My family wasnt in a siege of a town but a few villages surrounded by muslim forces, which wasnt as dramatic like sarajevo but still the same to an extent.
For instance, the houses are a prime target in a village, so you have to lure the enemy to come at your house, or light a fire and burn plastic so the smoke catches their eye to come and check, or set a mine to explode when they knock down the door.
Half of the fucking house was blown up by my dad alone when he and uncle lured them.
Entire floor collapsed at some point.
