If I can do my job from anywhere in the world, as long as I have an internet connection, would it be a bad idea to move to a third world country and live like a wealthy person?
If I can make around US$4500 a month, would a place like India or Nepal be a good option?

For that amount of money you can still live like a king without going as extreme as that, hell you could move to the south of Spain for that and still be fucking living in luxury.

What's your job

This
>>78262957
I don't think either of those countries will let you do that.
>>78262957
>India
why would you WILLINGLY move to India?

Is Spain pretty nice? I haven't really looked into it. I really like outdoorsy activities. Would I legally be able to do archery there or are there laws against people owning bows?

SQL dev and sort of a database analyst/admin. I used to do the job in person but now the company is allowing me to continue to do my job provided I have a stable internet connection. I've been working from home for about a year now and I'm toying with the idea of just living in some third world place where my money will go a lot further.

what kind of sql dev only makes 4.5k/mo? all the guys in my CS classes doing that shit are making six figures.
If you're really willing to do that, in Sudamerica the salary on IT field is around the same and the companies are in need of competent people.

It's my first job. The salary is very standard for entry-level with no other experience. I'm happy with it desu. If I made more money I'd just be buying more shit and have the same amount in the bank.

My friend, stay out of the EU. Their taxes will eat you alive. Go to South America, Eastern Europe or Southeast Asia and live like a real king

Is Argentina pretty cheap? The pictures seem nice.
>>78263348
Are the taxes that bad on residents too? That's a shame.
>>78263253
not op but I would totally consider this if it's true what you say that there's demand. I hear a lot of people saying shit like the market for developers is oversaturated and getting really competitive and maybe that's different in latin america.
>>78263509
Idk desu, might wanna check out since the crisis there really fucked their economy.
>>78263564
It is, demand it's pretty high since there aren't many devs and the ones that there is aren't really prepared. On top of that the best ones have jobs offered in US and Europe so they go for it. That ends with high demand and less people capable to fill it,

OP here. The market for good software devs is absolutely not saturated. If you have solid programming skills and a good portfolio, you can easily start landing jobs and contracts.
3rd world internet connection.
>Proof: Me.
Also data costs are insanely high.
