Honest Question. Is Central and South America a part of Western Civilization; or just an offspring? Even the parts of Occidental culture it inherited are different than in Europe. Like Christianity for example it just seems so different, and that's before you get into the people who make effigy of dead relatives or cut a bird's heads off for 'religious' reasons while still claiming to be Christian.
Yes they are part of western civilization.
I'd say Argentina, Chile and Uruguay are western. Certain parts of Brazil and Mexico are western and probably some other SA countries. Basically all the areas where Europeans are majority (south Brazil for example). Not sure about Chile and Paraguay since their population seems to be half native/mestizo half white, but I'm not sure if it even matters.

I don't, I'm just going by OP's map and my personal thoughts. You don't have to be west European or American to know what western means.

Religious syncretism in Latin America isn't all that different than what you get in Europe on Christmas and All Hallows' eve which were originally pagan rituals. LATIN Americans are heirs to Classical (Roman and Greek) civilization as well as enlightenment era values such as ´philosophy, the fine arts and science. I wopuld argue they are no more different, culturally speaking, than Americans.
Huntington, in your map, is just going by a scheme that equals the West to Nato plus "white" countries aligned with the US.

Latin America is way more Western than countries like Greece or Ukraine
