I lived for months in India for my work. I was in New Delhi.

Cons :
Very polluted, it is insane. I'm parisian but it was another level here. During pollution peaks you must go to the countryside. The sky is altered because of the pollution, almost scary.
Don't eat street food in new Delhi. You have 50% to get sick.
Indian chicken is awful everywhere. First thing when I came back in France is to eat a real good chicken from a farm.
Funny thing is that they don't eat cheese nan, it's an european, american thing.
Indian food in european country > Indian food in New Delhi
Expensive in the foreigners' quarter. More than 2000 euros per month the flat
Monkeys are mean, they stole my indian phone. Be careful with them, seriously.

Pros :
Love the nature in the countryside
Nice people
I had a driver. Anyway don't drive in New Delhi. You must have a driver.
I bathed in the Ganges but I was upstream. It was very clean
