Why is it that the UK has lost its power to the point that it's now not as influential as Germany?
Germany is geographically set to be the focal point of Europe. Doesn't matter how many times it destroys itself it'll be reborn. That said the current situation is a series of poor decisions, general change in society and nationhood, collapse of the empire and ensuing stagnation largely following a status quo. Brexit has shaken that though and we need to give it time to see if it ends up positive or negative in terms of economy and influence.
