Has technology such as google earth, smartphone and GPS ruined the mystique of the world?
>You can never get lost
>no need to explore, you can see everything from your chair
>Nothing can be hidden,
>someone can always see what you're doing.
>Someone can always find you.
you can get lost i got lost
not really, it was the same in the olden days, technology is not as pervasive unless you let it, it is only forced on you because you are too lazy to turn it off
the last two things were true as well, information just made you realize that fact
stop blaming others and start living for yourself

Even if I chose not to use the technology, someone else can still use it to see and track me.

yes, a while a go people used maps to do the same
technology is just a bigger and more updated map
it's the thinking that allows you to feel trapped, not what technology means
We're in the transitory phase of the technological revolution, the really mind-shattering stuff is beyond our lifetime

gps a shit if you are really exploring jungles or mountains.
more or less true
i was kinda disappointed to see great pyramids are situated next to a fucking golf course and houses.

technology helps in everything and not just applied curiosity
so the willful ignorance of the pyramids isn't the fault of the availability of the technology, it's just you weren't prepared for what you were going to discover
in other words technology cannot protect you from reality
