Asians aren't controversial enough. So they don't get leftie attention.
Asians aren't cool enough. So why put them in a movie.

Asians are everywhere in American culture, they've just assimilated and refuse to be unique special snowflakes, so they are "normal" whereas blacks are "unique".

In the Netherlands Indonesians are the biggest minority. But people don't even know that.

People think foreigners are Moroccans (who form 2% of the population).
So on tv they put Moroccans in shows so minorites are also represented.
We have just as many Turks as Moroccans for example, but Turks don't get airtime. Indonesians also don't get airtime. Germans don't get airtime. Chinese and Poles don't get airtime.
