Are there any 'Vietnamese"-Americans on /int/?
Questions:
Did you, or your family, come to the U.S. from before the war, during the war, or after the war?
If you came after was it because of the communism? Do you wish that your country had lost the war so that you'd have been capitalist?
For any that came during or before. Do you feel any sense of loyalty to the communist government of Vietnam?

Can't answer there question fully since I'm not Vietnamese, however of the friends I've made two were Vietnamese Americans whose families left after the war. They visit from time to time, however according to them it's mainly to visit family, being raised in the states they don't feel too strong a connection to Vietnam as a country beyond the people.

After the war. My grandpa was a soldier in the war(dunno what rank, but it was high) and sent into ""re-education camp"" while my grandma and dad got sent to the middle of nowhere. When my grandpa was release they fucking dipped.

Yes, Vietnam is shit because of their government.
