In the big cities where the waiting period for an apartment is between 2-10 years (almost 20 in central Stockholm) you can stay home until 30 without it being to unusual these days..
In the countryside/north? Around 18-24.then people look strangely on you unless you live on a farm with tons of space.

Yep. That's what you get with a housing shortage.
I moved last year after 3 years of waiting. And I only live in a 90k people city here in the south.
Up north it's a lot easier. And cheaper.

>>77522089
Shit, same here. I've been gathering points for 9 years (I'm 27) and have at least a year left before I can move away from my parents flat...
If it wasn't for my job I would leave for the north right now and buy a cheap flat.
Here in Stockholm even the cheapest one available cost about 4 times my savings...

Truely soviet tier.

23 and I still live with my parents but I'm moving out next month. If houses here weren't so expensive I would have done it sooner. Also if you don't have enough money the only way to get your own place is to share with other people here and there's no fucking way I was going to do that.

Still, my brother is 28 and lives at home so at least I'm not as fucked as him

I would take an apartment pretty much anywhere as long as it's not literally in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by Mohammads, or is only slightly bigger than a closet.

>>77522201
You can if you have tons of money. Maybe.
The queues are for getting your hands on apartments at reasonable prices without needing to spend a couple hundred thousand euros on a contract.
Obviously if you're sitting in a queue like I am then getting a contract is pretty much impossible.

>>
>>77522270
Yep it sucks. Maybe 12-13 years ago you could go and check out 3-4 apartments per week if you were gonna move in my city.
Now it's like 1-2 per month split between like 800 (per apartment) interested people and the person with the most points get's to chose first. If that person denies it, the next in line. And so on.
Do the state build new apartments? Yes. But all the new stuff is brutally expensive and a normal income person can't afford it...

After that you are either a special needs person or something similar.
You can literally buy a small house here for 5k or a flat for even less.
My parents bought me my house when I turned 19 for 6k just to get rid of me lol. Single room design but pretty big.

>>
>>77522919
>You can buy an apartment or you could rent one as far as I know, is that some sort of free/cheap communal housing or what?
To rent an apartment you need to stand in line. You can't rent if there is nothing to rent.
So you wait and eventually a place comes available. Problem? Other people are waiting as well. Who gets the place then? The person who waited the longest. How do you figure that out? With a point system. The longer you wait, the more points.

And sure you can buy a flat. But most young people can't afford that. Not even close.

If you have the money then basically nothing's stopping you from buying whatever you want.
If you don't, and you can't afford to cough up a ton of dough to buy a contract and pay whatever outrageous rent they have in mind, then you have 2 options:
1. Stand in a housing queue for a few years (and assuming you're moving AWAY from the capital) at best or a few decades (into the capital) at worst.
2. Get some nepotistic help from your relatives, be a refugee, emigrate, or kill yourself.

>>
>>77523071
>Why don't they build more apartments?
They do. Thousands. But new apartments costs a shit ton to rent.
Let me compare.

1. My apartment.
>built 40-50 years go
>renovated a few times
>3 rooms, kitchen, bath
>around 350 dollars per month

2. New apartment
>built recently
>same size
>around 800-1200 dollars per month

So young people can't afford them. Crisis goes on...

If they'd be forced to set their rent at a certain level so students could afford it then there's no fucking reason for them to put any effort into building it. They're only gonna make a set amount of money regardless of how bricks and paper they make the building.
Capitalism and all.
That said, while there's no way to solve it without going full commie mode, it's not exactly like these apartments which are being built supposedly to help with the housing crisis are doing fuckall. If poor people are the ones who need new apartments and you end up making something expensive that nobody in that bracket (minus spoiled kids with rich parents) will be able to afford then at best you're wanking in the wind or at worst you'll end up with a freshly built apartment that nobody lives in because nobody can afford it.

It's okay to complain and be angry at your situation. Just as long as you are not abandoning him. Also can't you get like a healthcare provider/helper with your commie healthcare? Even my grandma has one here for ""free"".

honestly my parents told me to put them into a nursing home as soon as they start losing it because of age or disease, as a family we have been taking care of one sick grandpa and one grandma for years at home, and it's just draining and destroys relationships between other family members.

I will tell my kids to put me in a home too, just bring some sweets, wine and cigars sometimes so I can end it quicker (and merrier).

isnt it better to have fun and die at home instead of waiting 10 years pissing your pants and being immobile before you die
>>
>>77526598
I know what you are talking about but i don't approve that way of thinking, unless it's something really impossible for a normal person
my parents raised me and it's my duty to take care of them
>>

nah everybody has rules, I would also feel bad about doing what I do in my house at my parent's home, I can't stand their rules and the way they treat me like a kid, I have a great relationship with them otherwise but I would honestly never go back to live with them again.

i didnt plan to be edgy, that just was reality
if his situation is like that he really cant have much left
well yeah nurses arent supposed to do home care
that's for what we hire romanians, i guess your choice would be a mexico woman

Wtf normal swedes cant just rent an apartment but instead have to queue??
>>

I don't want to ruin my kids' life, my mother has taken care of her two sick parents, both have been immobile in bed for years before passing away, and she had to come back from university abroad to take care of them, she never said she regretted doing that but always told me and my sister to please have somebody who does it as a job to take care of them when they can't do it on their own.

I don't want my kids to think of me as the reason they had to give up their ambitions, even if they love me until the end, it's not fair.

>>77526652
it's totally fine if you want to do that, I don't think there's any shame in putting your parents in a home if they are the ones asking and as long as yo don't forget about them.
>>
>>77526633
it's not like you die if you stay at home nigger
>>77526598
happened to me too, got to the point where i hope to die at 50 to avoid to the others all the problems

thanks m8. I have a job but I only work a few days of the week right now between my job and my dad I have zero down time. I've also been fired from two jobs for missing work days to deal with taking my dad to the hospital or respirologist or to go do a whole ton of other things.
>>77526590
I won't abandon him. Yeah ours are free too but the nurses we get here come maybe twice a week and they are useless fucks. Like, one of them is doing a collage program and has no idea what she's doing so she just talks to my dad for about a half an hour and then asks him to sign her sheet so she can leave. They help me give him showers but otherwise I can do everything myself better than they can.

25ish average. I moved out at 26, renting and living with my gf. Buying a house or land its pretty much impossible for the average wagecuck
>>
>>77526763
I know you weren't trying to be edgy it's a reality. Also we've hired a few filipinos but they can only do so much or they keep asking for more money or leave.
>>
>>77526766
Yeah. The sad truth. Unless you have enough cash to buy an apartment (will cost you a lot) you will have to wait.
>>
>>77526915
it's exactly the same here, it's a very tiring situation since you have to keep changing them to keep expenses relatively low, all together the psicological load from a dear person dying and trying their best to make you hate them even tho you wouldnt want it, but it's just hard
if you have brothers/sisters/cousin/youngaunts i suggest you ask for whatever little help you can get, as long as they are not pieces of shit who will ask even more than the pinoys
>>
In my town, around 25 maybe.
I've been waiting for a place for 3 years (I'm 22) now.
To be honest, I'll probably have saved enough to buy a house before I get an apartment...

24-25 at the latest, beyond that it starts getting embarrassing. I moved out at 21.
