According to US progressives, Latin Americans should be called "Latinx", which is a gender-neutral term that encompasses both the masculine Latino and feminine Latina, as well as everything in between (progressives believe in the existence of a plurality of gender identities apart from the biological male and female.)
South Americans, of course, have no choice but to accept this, as dictated by the US progressives.
Most of those posting under the US flag on /int/, are millennial progressives. It is their expectation that you adopt this terminology they have invented.
