It goes from okay to frankly excellent. Many Africans speak at least decent French (often with surprisingly advanced words like "hegemonic" or "bewitchment"), even if they have a heavy accent. The most educated Africans literally speak a better French than native speakers.

I know all I need to know about OIF. Basically any country can become a member. It has little to do with the French language, but more with the hopeless desire of the French to remain relevant in the world.

I'm a burger and learned Swedish in 8-9 months.
Kinda had to since I live here now, the Swede's are a freakishly good at English but speaking their language is a lot easier in the long run.

Given English's presence as a global language, many don't see the point of learning another language. I don't agree though. Being able to communicate with more people is great.
