our foreign policy is a disaster, our country is being replaced by third world migrants, our cities are becoming chinese and indian ghettos, our young men are committing suicide at alarming rates, our dollar has collapsed, our debt is going to implode, our resource based economy is being crippled, our unemployment is consistently high, our standard of living is going down, our wages are stagnant, our homeless are freezing to death, our housing prices are skyrocketing, our young people are not starting families, and our freedoms are being stripped away to appease an influx of violent brown muslim hordes who show no respect or loyalty to our country.

but at least we have free healthcare unlike those dumb redneck yankees ;^)

Average CAD to USD exchange rate over the last 27 years is .80, right now it's at .79, so basically it's holding at average. It's forcasting an upwards trend compared to the EUR and the AUD 1.61% and 2.58% respectively.

All in all not too bad, although you are right about Trudeau hiking our deficit way up, but I doubt the liberals will win the next general election, if they even make it that long under Trudeau.

white immigrants assimilate. the chinese and especially indians dont. they basically create mini versions of their countries in our cities. imagine if instead of a few blocks, chinatown was an entire city.
>>
>>77331958
Europeans do, but non-Europeans tend to form their own little communities and retain their own culture. But really it only occurs in a few of the larger cities.

Not anymore.

Up until the late 90s they pretty much all assimilated well. After that point, it went to shit and now it's just culture bubbles everywhere

of course they'll win. trudeau isn't some guy they grabbed off the streets, he knows exactly what moves to play. he's going to drag his feet on pot legalization until 2019 so he can say "dah conservutives r gunna take ur w33d!!!!!!"

i agree with a lot of what scheer says. the problem is, hes pretty timid and low energy. hes basically joe clark v2.0. if he wins, it will be a minority just like in 1979, then when another election is called, trudeau will come back.

>>
>>77332131
I thought that too, but the Liberals might realise how bad keeping Mulclair has been for the NDP and drop Trudeau. I also think Scheer is still coming out of his shell. He was a non-entity as Speaker, and ran a relatively low key campaign but he seems more energetic as time goes on.

I want to say the death of the NDP but nowadays it probably means the first NDP government. Especially if the orange wave continues in Québec and BC. Still, a lot of hard red ridings in Atlantic Canada who voted for Trudeau to get neetbux are tired of the far left identity politics.

the ndp lost pretty badly in quebec, and i don't know that any of the candidates can get it back. it wasn't the party as a whole, but jack himself that took quebec. as for bc, we just had an ndp government sworn in, and if it's anything like the last 2, that being complete shit, I don't think they'll sweep the province. and if the atlantic wants more welfare but no identity politics, they're out of luck

Honestly, Mulcair could have kept his party's seats in Quebec had he not gone full "DUDE BURQAS LMAO" during the last campaign. I think he underestimated just how bad the perception of muslims is in Quebec, especially outside of Montreal (where most of his seats were). For example, just recently, residents in a referendum in Quebec City voted against allowing a Muslim cemetary to open. I highly doubt such a thing would happen anywhere else in Canada, except maybe Atlantic Canada.

I've noticed this. For all the ">America >White" banter (which is true) we get, Pajeet and Zheng have basically colonized Toronto when I visited. mmm depends. no statistics on something as vague as integration or what qualifies as 'assimilated'. but i'd wager the 2nd and 3rd generation are well integrated while 1st generation, the actual immigrants take longer, if ever.

Canada is fucking shit. When someone enters from the Buffalo side, it's an empty wasteland with maybe five or six cars on a heavy day and has highways named after it like Nicola Tesla Road and Queen Elizabeth Way. Fuck your shit country. Toronto's a village next to our top 10 cities.
>>
>>77332970
>Toronto's a village next to our top 10 cities.

I hate Toronto and hope it gets nuked but you do realize it's the 4th largest city in North America, right? Only NY and LA are bigger than it, and Mexico City
>>
>>77332948
Even in Quebec they aren't exactly "common", but they seem to happen more often than elsewhere in Canada.

Heck, even here in Montreal, not too long ago there was a referendum in a neighborhood right next to mine to determine if a mosque would be allowed to open there, and the proposal was overwhelmingly rejected. And this neighborhood in question has a significant muslim minority, meaning that the non-muslims who voted were almost unanimous in their decision to go against it.
>>
>>77332987

When I visited it seemed like there was very little to do tbf. That's what I meant when I said village. Toronto's a boring place, and I had just come from a bunch of cities in the Northeast (Philly, Boston, New York, I visited DC two weeks later) and Toronto just paled in comparison in terms of history and things to see. Maybe it's because I'm not from not your country, but that it costs 38 American to go to the CN Tower, a fucking skyscraper to view a skyline that doesn't really compare with the others I've seen.

I'm rambling but Toronto's not the "world city" that I was expecting. For such a big city, of 6 million people or so you'd expect better.
>>
>>77333080
>"world city"
There's a reason nobody like Toronto
>>
>>77333277

You've just said that it's just between the size of LA and Mexico City.

Can't expect someone not to have decent expectations. Instead I was shown around by someone with muh poutine which is alright and a freezing fucking beach known as Lake Ontario. Toronto is an awful city.

I really can't find one thing a young Canadian would like about your country. Unemployment is much higher than ours at 6.5% and it's bound to go up as more immigrants come in (and they're educated Zhengs and Pajeets and not our Pablos), so it's definitely more competitive. There's supposed to be a culture of nepotism in the workplace, yeah? Is Vancouver and Montreal nicer? What about Alberta lad?
>>
>>77333488
are you high lol
>>
>>77333551

No. Wondering why Toronto is so shit. Why aren't there more historical monuments within it? Philly's 3 times smaller but has tons more history than that city. If Toronto's Canada's best foot forward like the biggest city of any country should be there should be more to do.
>>
>>77332567

At least we aren't running around beheading and raping white grills. YOU should be thankful for that. But I guess you prefer those Indians and Muslims/Arabs right? Maybe if you brown-nose enough, they'll let you have sloppy thirds, you c uck!
>>
>>77333080
you obviously haven't explored it enough. there's obviously not a huge history like NYC or Boston but we have lots to do at night.

toronto is also a hipster city so the art/culture scene is somewhat hidden and you have to live here to know about it.
>>77333277
literally every city but montreal is shittier and more boring than toronto.
>>77333488
>culture of nepotism
>alberta

you've been taking /int/ too seriously. half the leafs are NEETs from the middle of nowhere who's never been to toronto or montreal.

with that said toronto i find to be way more boring than historical american cities but its a lot funner than places like minneapolis and anywhere else that isn't a top 5 city.

M8 I went downtown on a Friday night in summer last month. It's pretty fresh in my mind and a Bangladeshi guy even came to talk to me about an Aston Martin when I noticed it. Pretty weird guy. Thought he was gonna rob me and my sister.

I've seen it. Literally ten or so blocks and then if you make a right there's a bit more but the hour was getting late. Honestly m8 it didn't look like much. Granted I live in New Orleans and everything is cramped.

Maybe I'll go back and give it a looksee because I stayed in NYC for two weeks and Toronto for only three days.

what street was this on? we have literally 5-6 different bar districts all spread out.

I go to little italy and its theme bars there usually, but I sometimes hop over to the ritzier bars near the bayfront. not even "bar" culture but we have hipster-districts, gay districts, various districts and-so-on.

you may have been exposed to the bar scene typically reserved for boring aging adults/out-of-towners/etc.

our mainstream toronto is boring as fuck because in general working people (IE majority) in toronto are boring as fuck and usually just suburbanites who work/play there during the weekend.

actually enjoyable toronto is usually the counter-culture/subcultures that develops from toronto itself. eg. our music and arts scene is pretty well-developed.

next time you should go is during nuit blanche festival. its an enormous art exhibition that covers the entire city.
