Do you miss the early-mid 2000s era of things, /int/?
People seem to think things when to shit after 9/11 but I think things from Late 2001-2006 were still fantastic. It was 2007 with the iPhone, Big bang theory, Recession, social media, etc. where things truly went downhill.
Society was already going downhill at that time, but to me 2005-2007 was the peak of the internet, and I've been online since 1997.
People have become superficial and constantly need that dopaminergic rush, so everything truly valuable is beyond sight
Too many highs make too many lows

No.
Social media and the iPhone were great developments, there's no way anyone would willingly go back to the dark ages.
>>77329082
00's were just a watered-down 90's
>>77329357
Yeah but they've amplified our social problems
Online interaction has created these fringe movements because it lacks the connection actual human interaction has
Now everyone reads some manifesto online and deems an entire global subpopulation subhuman without any meaningful contact with them

>I've been online since 1997
How old are you?
>>77329386
This
>>77329082
I think we got most of new, innovative ideas in 80's and 90's and after that is pretty much continuation of 80's and 90's

They don't have anything to do with social problems, you are blaming the tools. The Internet and smartphones are no different than a hammer or a gun.
obama decided to make socialism mainstream and look what we got
>>77329523
The interconnectedness, globalization of our social problems happened through them, now everyone is on edge and hysterical
Back then people always found them simpler and approached them constructively
I miss 2006

32. My aunt's work gave her home access to their dial-up connection, and she shared the username and password details with me. Shit was cash.
The only website I knew at the time was Yahoo.
>you realize that in a little over a year we will be able to fuck qts born after 9/11
>>77329549
What? Obama was not a socialist by any means, he was a pro-capitalist corporatist. He would be considered right-wing in many other, more sane countries.
>>77329623
>Yahoo
I cannot even remember when Google started replacing Yahoo
If you've been online since 1997? Have you happened to see the very beginning of 4chan?
>>77329082
2007 - 2011 was the golden age, it was all downhill from there.
>>77329679
yeah but tell that to retarded americans who saw it as a free ticket to start with their dumb liberal ideas, thus destroying the world
>>77329680
>Have you happened to see the very beginning of 4chan?
No. I first heard of 4chan in like 2005 and didn't start browsing until the end of 2006.
>>77329082
nah the 70's were fun.
bushy, unprotected sex. relatively benign drugs. and maybe good music too.
>>77329734
what the hell are you talking about specifically
>>77329082
I miss nothing
I was born in Russia on October 14, 1990. And Russia was the best between 1993-2002, when there was free speech.
0-16 living life carefree
16-18 just barely starting to see the world for what it is
18-20 reality check, fully aware of the world
20-25 somewhere here you either submit or suicide
25-death, if you're still alive you live the rest of your life miserable and depressed
