Meanwhile, Justin Trudeau has decreased the number of refugees allowed into Canada, and revoked more citizenships than the previous Conservative Prime Minister.

>Trudeau government revoking citizenship at much higher rate than Conservatives
>The numbers show that the Trudeau government has used the law far more aggressively than the Harper government itself.
https://archive.is/8DJ2L

>The Prime Minister’s refugee-friendly branding has veiled Canada’s fortress policies
>Just last month, the government quietly capped applications for private sponsorship of refugees from war-torn Syria and Iraq. The number now accepted? A mere one thousand. In other words, many desperate and endangered people will not be able to come to Canada, despite there being groups ready to welcome and host them.
>And of those refugees, nearly half were privately sponsored by citizens, not the government itself. Trudeau has outsourced his responsibility to ordinary people, but has not been shy to claim the benefits to his image.

Birth rates have dropped in every nation on earth.
In Africa they're dropping far slower than they should be though.

In order to avoid a demographic catastrophe (aka Africa's population quadrupling before the end of the century which the UN projects will happen if current trends continue) then Africa's fertility rates need to fall like a fucking anchor, not a feather.

They all used to have 8 and now the average throughout is about 4.5.
They had rapid drops but now it's plateauing which is creating big fucking problems for the future.

2 countries have over 6 children.
13 countries have over 5 children.
33 countries have over 4 children

That's out of Africa's 54 countries.
On top of that Namibia and Egypt's fertility rates aren't just plateauing, they're fucking INCREASING.

Egyptians used to have 2 and now they have 3.5.
Macron is 100% correct.
>>

he is doing okay on the international scene so far, which is why you guys see, but his appetite for power is really scary. The whole campain was about transparency and less shady business within elites, which is about the contrary of what is happening.

Because Africa is a low income shithole. Even on Latam the birth rates are getting low, because the living standards here were progressively getting better during the last century, and richer people don't have as many kids as poorer ones. In the 19th century, it was fairly common for a British family to have 5+ kids, Queen Victoria had like 9 for fuck's sake.

most of these inmigrants will end up in other countries like refugees, Europe is not the first choice of inmigration

and the worst case scenario is a lightly increase of non whites and mixed people, which is not that much of a problem

I know

There isn't a single country in North America, South America, Central America or the Caribbean that has more than 3 children on average.

Africa has a culture problem though.
They're either extremely christian or extremely muslim.
I know you spics and hues are """"Catholic"""""" but you have shemales and your women are whores so it's pretty obvious there's a slight semblance of secularism there.

Africans don't give a fuck though.
They refuse to wear contraception because of ALLAH.
They refuse to teach sex education because of JEEZAS.
They refuse to legalise abortion because "EVERY CHAI-ALD IS A GEEFT FROM GAWRD"

I'm not saying you need fedora tippers to save countries but it's preferable to African culture.

It's almost like politicians pay lip service to voters or something
>>
He's completely right on this point though, from a centrist perspective.

Africa's population growth is way too fast given the limited resources in the region and the slow labour/economic growth. If the population growth pulled back to a reasonable rate, then Africa could invest more per capita in its citizens, train them, and find jobs for them. And because there aren't any jobs or economic prospects, you see millions of africans migrating out of the country once they become of labour age, preventing them from contributing to the country and helping develop it. Furthermore, female labour participation will be low if they're struggling to raise so many children per family.

He's very smart, and that I don't think anyone has the gall to negate. As my father would say, the last president France had that had formerly been hired by the Rostchilds was Pompidou, and he ranks as what some would consider our last decent president, so we best cross our fingers for Macron.

There's a documentary that was issued about him in his presidential campaign, and it's ovious he thought he was going to win, and goes through it very smoothly and professionaly, while Hollande blundered his way through the presidency, revealing state secrets even while in office.

But more importantly os the good he's done to France for reshaping the political landscape here. The traditional left is finished, and some strands of LARPing communists are its last remnants.

Lekker for us :3

Historically, it has (for the most part), because we had an 'economic immigration policy'. We focused on bringing in skilled workers

Of course, that wasn't without failures along the way. The Immigrant Investor Program, now defunct, allowed wealthy chinese to buy residencies and wash their cash in our real estate markets, putting over 30-50 billion dollars in the hopper, mostly limited to Vancouver and Toronto, making those cities completley unaffordable. Meanwhile they only claimed a pithy 18k/yr income to our taxable benefit, though they only got in because they were millionaires. And then there has been a failure to take advantage of the skills of the immigrants we bring in. Taxi drivers and grocery baggers have MDs or PhDs but they can't accreditize their degrees.

But regardless of its problems, it has had some economic benefits. Though the Trudeau government announced just a couple years ago that it was changing from economic immigration prioritization to 'family' immigration. Aka bring in the relatively unskilled family members of recent immigrants. Senior immigrants, and someone's unemployed cousin, provide little-to-negative benefit for the country but supposedly that's what we're after now. Likely to be a drain on social services and the healthcare industry.

Bjorn, I don't think you quite conceive how massively the French state was overspending, and burdening us in taxes. For a while, we were technically the most communist country on Earth (if you go by how much the State taxes you), so this is definetely what has been needed for France.

Clearly more of an exageration, with a dumb metaphor saddled to it so it'd get the point across, but we're still very much taxed. A French citizen, when you scale it one a year, only touches his share of what he earns around August, meaning you're leaving the other 8 months of "pay" to the government.

It working or not working has nothing to do with the merit of the economic behind it but rather is a side-effect of how most democracies work. I.e. a short election cycle makes politicians more prone to short term solutions. This is why constitutional monarchy is unironically better than democracy (a real one that is, not the castrated form of monarchy we have in Europe).

rightwingers IRL don't really complain about immigrants. they actually go out of their way to court them, for example the conservative party smashed the "toronto liberal fortress" by campaigning hard for brown/asian voters in the suburbs.

most of the complaints are when its certain forms (ie when an immigrant does crime/terorrism or when a conflict occurs like a ghetto riot or something).

online rightwingers from /pol/ are alt-right/ethnonationalists which is rare outside the internet generally.

Hmm, well then that might be something that stems from the Netherlands being as a miniscule ant-sized country, but in France, people would much rather be represented by someone from their hometown (although politicians cheat a lot with this: ie. Mélenchon was elected in Marseilles although he's only ever lived there one month), than someone from half-way across the country although with their preferred party affiliations.
A Northerner would chide the idea of being represented by a Provencal, etc...

plus they don't have the sénat, nor the régions, nor the départements, nor the municipalités, that are all right wing now (though you can argue Macron is right wing anyway)

also, there were times in the last decade when some parties had a much bigger majority than what Macron has right now (typically the 1993 assembly that was like 80% right wing)

Any variety of monarchy where much of the power lies on one person or a handful of people is prone to short term existence.

This sort of system where there are well defined classes, second class citizens, requires eternal empathy from the ruling class to the working class. This is more commonly known as noblesse oblige.
Without this, the working class will not feel the love from the upper class, eventually leading to a coup.

If we look into it, the USA is actually the oldest government currently in existence.
Every other government has either been radically reshaped (multiple times at that) or otherwise destroyed since 1787. Even one of our oldest allies, Morocco, was dissolved in 1912 and reformed in 1952.

Democracy is the form of government symbolizing longevity. Regardless of how short term our leaders operate in, democracy is in for the long haul.

Well, it has a historical reasons why we don't have politicians from specific regions.

Before the French republic existed, we had the Dutch republic.
And each time politicians had to vote in The Hague, they first went home to their own district. So they could talk the proposals over with people in their home district.
So, it could take weeks for a simple proposal to pass as politicians kept going home to talk things over.

So, now it is constitutionally forbidden for politicians to 'vote with a burden after consultation with your supporters'.
So there was no more need for districts. It's actually forbidden to go home and talk to your supporters before you vote.

>>77023004

it's exactly the same in France, you know

the one who opened the immigration floodgate was Pompidou, and the one who opened it even wider was Giscard d'Estaing who allowed family regrouping (and thus transforming economic migrant into settlers), both right wing presidents

and Sarko is the guy behind the Calais shitstorm, as well as the Lybian disaster (though he was heavily pushed by the US, he still went at it happily for his own agenda) that is causing the current flooding through the Mediterannean sea

The French and American republics are the evolution of the Dutch republic. You ironed out most flaws.

But we replaced our republic with a King with - at that time - absolute power. Because our republic didn't work at all.

We even had states who build their own armies in secret. Just because they could. Something you still see a bit in the USA"s national guards.

Uh rude? And if my scraps of historical knowledge serve me right, it was almost traditionally always cast down every couple of years, and then only resurfaced to oust which ever king had been losing a war for the Netherlands.

But yeah that aside, that makes sense.

In France, we also have remnants of the "past" tied to our political institutions, like for example, a "department" is an important subdivision of the French territory, and in the days of the French revolution, they were designed as regions which you could travel by horse in less than a day.
So basically useless nowadays but we still have them somehow.

We could say the same thing about all of the large-ish countries in Asia. We just don't because they at least understand that they have a population problem and are for the most part taking measures to solve it.

When people talk about Africa, they're only pointing out the elephant in the room. Africa doesn't have the self control or even the ability to control their own populations. This is a phenomenon that doesn't occur anywhere else in the world, and at a scale that doesn't occur anywhere else in the world.

To claim that pointing out obvious and undeniable facts is somehow people being racist is simply people confirming their own biases. They would rather put their hands to their ears and scream rather than think of realistic plans to bring Africa's uncontrolled population boom to heel before the entire continent implodes on itself.
>>
>>77034904
>We just don't because they at least understand that they have a population problem and are for the most part taking measures to solve it.

But African countries are dealing with it though and they are putting in measure within the country by the citizens and the government bout people still keep on goring it because it clashes with their "Africans do nothing" viewpoint.

All I've managed to find is this report by USAID about increased contraceptive use.
https://www.fhi360.org/sites/default/files/media/documents/africa-bureau-case-study-report.pdf

While it does mention government effort to stem uncontrolled birth, it doesn't mention the actual effect of the contraceptives on the overall birthrate.

Intuitively I would suspect that such statistics would be of extreme interest to anyone involved. The lack of presence of such statistics suggests that the program was unsuccessful in significantly curbing the birthrate in the three African countries stated in the report.

As I said before, they don't have the ability to control their own populations. "Africans do nothing" might be wrong, but expecting the African government to do anything of value given our current methods of foreign aid is delusional.

Let's get this straight. The "I'm not racist but" isms exist because the far left has created such a retarded bar for what's actually considered racist that people have to pretend to pander to it publicly. It's like how anyone running for president has to also pretend to be religious to stand a chance at getting elected.

The far left's standard of racism is completely ignorant of reality. Hating all black people IS racist. Thinking no black person could ever intellectually achieve as much as any white person IS racist. However acknowledging simple cultural and evolutionary facts doesn't make you a racist. Much of Africa has been separated from the rest of humanity long enough for significant genetic drift to occur. There are real biological differences that exist between races on a broad scale. Pretending they don't exist doesn't make you a better person, it makes you a fool.

*Lots of nations had big jumps in their numbers for Contraceptive use.

https://www.theguardian.com/global-development/datablog/2016/mar/08/contraception-and-family-planning-around-the-world-interactive.

I used the guardian because the interactive graphs are really frat for seeing this shit unfold and even then many people predict that as couturiers develop and healthcare is more developed even more citizens will use contraceptives to void having a kid or to space out births better.
>>
>>77035465
Because this issue is intrinsically tied to modern politics. I could try to make the same post attempting tp skirt around that, but my point remains the same. There are a very devoted and very idiotic group of people that make it so you can't talk about simple problems in Africa without automatically being labeled a racist.
>>
>>77035465
>>77035504
"A fuck ton" is not a number. Again, the article you linked only refers to increased contraceptive use. They fail to quantify what "unmet needs" mean. If needs are met, will this result in a reduction of births?

Contraceptives and birthrates don't necessarily correlate. Contraceptives only stop unintended births. If contraceptive needs are met, that wouldn't imply that they have their birthrates under control.

Africa requires much more strict reform to keep their populations from exploding. Here is where your ``racism'' comes into play. The U.N. is too afraid to try to work with African nations to force birthrates down because to those with thin skin and nervous habits, family planning is genocide.

The populations will rise regardless because that's how societies do as they shift from the agricultural stage to the industrial stage.

The UN is working in Africa alongside government and organizations to promote Birth control and family planning if you actually bother checking the UN and it's organizations. No one is being thin skinned at all and you are trying to make it seem like there is some conspiracy of sorts.

>>77035822
Anon that was not made by Straftor but Nigeria Development & Finance Forum. Stratfor just posted the article.
>>
>>77036325
In your very own STRATFOR article, they make a claim that there are people with thin skin and believe that there is a conspiracy of some sort.

>Thus, many local leaders are prone to regard birth control measures with disfavour and suspicion; a plot to castrate and weaken the country; a capitalist conspiracy perhaps emanating from the one and only CIA.

Believing that the white boogeyman is out to destroy your family and country is obviously going to hamper attempts to espouse the virtues of family planning, and will significantly reduce the effectiveness of current foreign aid.

So the UN has two options: Either assist African nations in developing economically such
that they can support these childbirths (infeasible for multiple reasons), or write policy reminiscent of Communist China.
Doing as they do now is the same thing as doing nothing, and in their fear of being demonized as racist, the African population will bloom and the aftermath will have to be dealt with by the rest of the world.

The population might rise, but the birthrate absolutely cannot exceed the ability of the nation to support that birthrate. There is no use in having a hundred million young laborers if they are all starved and running for greener grass.

Bill Gates at gates.com makes an argument for foreign aid and what will happen without it. Well, doing as we are now is the same as doing nothing.

The problem is Africa's population is rapidly rising in a postmodern world after the rest of the world has solved basic survival problems. When Europeans had tons of children, nobody could send food, technology, or aid to them so natural causes kept the population in check. Asia had a meteoric population rise later, but that problem has long since been somewhat tempered. Africa's overpopulation is a completely new animal.

So what's going to happen with the increase in mechanization and the decrease in the usefullness of humans in the work force? Obviously Africa is less wealthy than other nations and should have a slower turn over, but their population is much less educated and even today people ship in south east asians for certain jobs. I can totally see foreign bussinss in africa trying as hard as possible to not use any workers at all what little they need importing from their country of origin.

Basically I'm wondering what the economic outlook of all these new african births will be like in the future because of technology.

Automation happens to be my career specialty. The particulars of automation have very little to do with Africa.

Automation requires high capital investment and highly skilled workers to maintain and develop, both of which Africa does not have.

One of the primary benefits of automation is that robots do not have minimum wages. The prevalence of automation in China, where wages are already low, only shows that you can drive down the cost of materials and logistics low enough such that automation becomes economically feasible to do over there. Africa does not have the manufacturing or logistical capability to make automation feasible, nor is it ready for offshoring companies to begin manufacturing there. source: Empire of Dust.

In all likelihood, automation and Africa are two words that are not going to be related to one another until you and I have gray hairs. Their cultures are completely different from the Chinese and every other developing nation in history, so it's difficult to predict what will happen.

I suspect that if they somehow get over their cultural deficiencies (an overall lack of morals and discouraging rising above one's peers), we will see offshoring in Africa in the classical style. You'll eventually start to see clothes and simple mechanical tools made in the Congo and such, and there will probably be mounting humanitarian concerns about the armed guards and such they had to use to achieve those results.

Money isn't on a gold standard anymore so the real point of the reserve didn't exist anymore and was just sold occasionally to work off debt and fill gaps in budget. We also never had enough gold in the past 40 years for it to be any real benefit to us. It's not like the US gold reserves which are fucking colossal. Our gold reserves were probably a couple days, maybe a week of full government operation cost.

Harper sold a shitload of it in his last year because he was scamming every system he could to pull a budget surplus out of his ass to brag about during the election (He also defunded a lot of social programs and cut healthcare funding to accomplish it).
>>
>>77034237
>>77038814

I should also note, the big drop that started it all that you see there under the guy with the small woman picture above him.

That was Brian Mulroney. While he did serve as PM for a very long time, 9 years, in the end he basically became Canada's biggest class act fuck up leader. After a string of fuck ups including the implementation of the GST, completely botching his government coalition and presiding over a big economic downturn (which wasn't really his fault, it was just a bad time in the market). He eventually dipped to an 11% approval rating and decided to retire before the election.

The woman in the picture above him is Kim Campbell, his Defense Minister, who became an interim Prime Minister for 6 months until the election came.

In the end his party, the Progressive Conservative Party, went from 151 seats in Parliament to 2 after the election. The biggest loss of power for a party in Canadian history.

That never worked because it screwed China's demographic and extremely harmed Chinese culture. Even in the developing world there are a lot of shifts in cultural mores regarding birth control.
