The most successful people in Ottoman Empire were from Albanian ancestry. Considering it was a 600 years lasting Empire and taken into consideration of current situation of Albania, you should be proud of those people.

But that makes perfect sense though, for example the German military commanders that proved most effective at fighting the Romans were those who had served and been educated in the Roman military.
If you have a firm grasp of your enemies military doctrine it makes it much easier to fight them.
