>Anglo says he speaks your language
>Utters some gibberish thats actually a pretty simple phrasse
>have to tell him to repeat like 2 times for each thing he says
why do anglos have such a hard time adapting to a different accent? the english accent ruins their otherwise decent attempts at speaking languages
Specially in heavily phonetic language like Finnish, Spanish, Italian...

overall shitty language learning programs and classes in schools across the US...
also some people are super unmotivated to learn another language and give up after 2 weeks at most

Spanish and italiab have a simple vowel system. Anglos for some reason add diphthongs everywhere. I would like to know if they do that in other languages.

>english vowel system
not common for major languages, no.
>>76794771
yes thats the sspecific problem, the vowel shift and how "relaxed" the mouth of native english speakers is
but anyone can learn the basics of correct english pronunciation, why doesnt it work the other way around
>>76796662
>how "relaxed" the mouth of native english speakers is
They speak like andalusians desu. Like if they had just visited from the dentist.
>try and talk to a spainard
>he has the gay lisp
if you don't have an anglo flag there is a 95% chance you speak terrible terrible english.
comprehension is fairly easy to pick up by yourself but learning to emulate the sounds of a language only comes with constant conversing.
english gets singled out because we are native to the world's lingua franca. there are often few times it's practical to not speak english

exactly
almost every non-native speaker I hear has horrible English, but since so many people speak English as a second language you let it slide since you're used to people mangling the pronunciation.
English has really weird phonology. T becomes D, dipthongs up the ass, really weird R, and even weirder A and U.

i feel more comfortable writing english so when it comes to speaking im not that used to it and i mess up
but im still like, understandable
