I think the first two characters are 昭和 so it might be japanese, since that's the name of their last emperor (the one from WW2 up until the 80s).

OP here, thank you for trying to help me out. I am an antique dealer and I bought a bunch of old medals and they're in all different languages, most I could figure out but I am in no way familiar with any Asian writing. This is the other side if it helps, just noticing there is writing on that side too. I appreciate any help.

My uncle owned a pawn shop and I got a job there when I was a teenager and eventually gained an eye for antiques. It takes a little while to recognize value but it can be some easy easy money. It's very common that people will sell old things that as worth money at yard sales thinking they're garbage.

It comes with antiquing, it wasn't very much money for them so it's a gamble, I'll sell it one way or another. I once bought a box of pins that I figured was likely garbage and found three old Nixon campaigning pins which each sold for no less than 800 dollars a piece. Sometimes it does feel kind of like hording but that experience made me realize I should take chances with cheap things I don't know. Also thank you for your help.

So from what I gather Shows 9 means 1934 and that looks about right from the condition. I had the idea that perhaps it is some sort or sporting or Olympic paraphernalia.
