Seriously, how did the Eastern USA turn out superior to the Western USA in every category?

Most of the western states have been settled longer than the eastern ones have. When Virginia was being founded in 1607 you could have travelled to Santa Fe, New Mexico and eaten at a restaurant and stayed at a hotel. I'm from the South and the eastern seaboard and hate Cali trash as much as anyone but this is a dumb post.

>Most of the western states have been settled longer than the eastern ones have.
By indians and Spaniards.
>>76691359
A couple of Jesuit missions in the desert under constant harry of apache tribes is not comparable to early Plymouth or Jamestown
>>76691385
>by Spaniards
Why does that mean it doesn't count? States very often have their own histories outside of the US. American history didn't begin in 1776.
>>76691468
Jamestown was pretty much the same thing as that but with different Indians.
>>76691226
Every region of the US is the same for me tbqh.
>>76691569
the Indians were vicious indeed
they began many of the conflicts
>>76691920
That's because you are an ignorant and prideful Frenchman.
>>76691569
As a west coastie i refuse to acknowledge that part of our history
>>76691569
>Why does that mean it doesn't count? States very often have their own histories outside of the US. American history didn't begin in 1776.
It counts, but the East coast was explored by Spanish and French in the 1500s as well. Plus you had various failed English colonies like Roanoke before the first successful one so European civilization did indeed have it's earliest mark here.

Americans clearly overestimate the differences between each corner of your country, because you feel like you have to be as diverse as "Europe" which in your mind is just one country. It is not. We had millenias to differentiate yourself. You have 50 states which as their name show are not countries but just straight lines drawn on a map.
>>76691994
That's retarded.

>USA Eastern Zones
>Long History
Lol, how can the history of one place on earth be longer than another? Did an evil wizard cast a spell that froze time in the west or something?
>Various Cultures
There is really just eastern seaboard culture at this point and it's really nothing special.
>Fine art
Sure if you pretend that CA doesn't exist and isn't the art capital of the world right now
>Most prolific Americana
Wild West shit, is 'Americana'
>Greatest politicians come from here
Who? Washington?
>Interesting people
Only if wops and grease ball italians are interesting to you.
>>76692161
>Americans clearly overestimate the differences between each corner of your country,
Europeans underestimate it. Before globalization really became strong in the 1990s the differences were far more pronounced.
>you feel like you have to be as diverse as "Europe" which in your mind is just one country.
Nice strawman but not relevant when talking to me.
>>76692250
I admit I was baiting in my first post. Still unlike what you said I visited the West Coast, New York, D.C. and Colorado never felt big differences. Only really different place in NA is Québec for obvious reasons. Your country is just too young and too "country" to have big cultural differences.
>>76692361
You went to the cultural export hegemony. Historically speaking in the East Coast you Pennsylvania Dutch, Amish, Scot-Irish, Scots, Irish, English, Italians and Blacks which all have added something unique to their slice of America.
At the very least, cultural regions of the USA look something like this map. As I said, USA was hit hard by globalization even in our own country and a lot of our differences get fazed out for the strip mall mentality. For most of America's history (which spans over 500 years) it wasn't like this.
>>76692608
Yeah it was probably way more different before. But now there aren't much more differences between the East Coast and the West Coast than between Northern France and Southern France from what I saw. Which is a shame.
