I highly respect it when people want to learn other languages even though they don't need them. It's one of the many ways to keep your brain fit.
But I see no benefit for other foreigners ,and especially anglos, to learn german.
I mean I like it when people show interest for my culture, but why?

It's the cultural reasons, kraut. Some want to read Goethe, watch German movies or roleplay the ethnicity (WIR warren königz). Most of those choose French or Italian based on culture but after studying those for a while give German a look.

We learn German because we trade a lot with Germany and also to curse nudist germans off of our beaches in summer time
