Being part of a union means that the states economies are much more interconnected.

That is to say if states like Alabama and South Carolina were independent countries they;'d be much lower.

I've worked in 7 countries (USA, Germany, Norway, England, France, Spain, Netherlands)
and you don't realize how much money Americans have until you become a working man in all these countries


But you also don't realize how much less money Europeans need

in the US you have to pay for your 3 TV's that you must have, the utilities, the car payment, insurance for everything, fuel, maybe your parking permit, your debt from university, and the daily outings to restaurants for work lunch/dinners which you can't refuse because work is a social environment

in Europe you can get around any city for 2 euros or less, you don't need a permit, your train card is probably free if you're under 24, or you have a student card that lets you take a train anywhere in the region, you're not in debt because the semester only cost you between 100-500 Euro (or free..), having a single TV in the apartment is perfectly acceptable, didn't have to pay ridiculous prices for utilities - in fact in Norway I didn't even have to pay a water bill. And after work you weren't 'forced' to take part in expensive activities with colleagues because no one gives a fuck about anyone there and work is just work.

Life is much cheaper there, they get paid less but have less stress and less obligations.

By the way I have a Masters in BI with a track in Data Science and my first point of contact with Europe was Amsterdam because of the Business School. To this day the Netherlands is still the 'best' country I have lived in but that was 5 years ago and now I have come to accept that it's a degenerate shithole. What a shame the continent deteriorated so much just in the last 3 years

This is about the median person. The median person in USA has healthcare through their employer and didn't study in some expensive university. Gas, utilities and food are cheaper than anywhere in Europe. Americans buy 3 TV's and 3 cars and eat out 3 times a day and live in 3 times bigger houses because they can and not because they have to.
