we spend more on education per-capita than almost every country in the world. last time i checked, only Switzerland spends more. but public sector unions ensure that money spent doesn't go toward improving education. the last public school I went to had more administrators than teachers. i finally lucked out and got a scholarship to a private school.

Being smart is bad for the economy. Economic superiority is based not only on engineers/academics, but also the bottom echelons of your average joes.

If everyone is relatively smart and diligent and minimalist, people don't buy pointless stupid shit from massive companies.

If joes are dumb niggers, it facilitates wealth transfer from low to high social strata. This allows money to be spent more effectively for national interests, since it's held by fewer hands.

Same reason why western Europe, and Britain in particular surpassed Germanic peoples.

Now as for WHY Americans are so bydlo? Probably self-selection. America was basically free welfare gibs in return for leaving your entire life behind. Such a reward would only attract lower-middle class Europeans, so our mentality and culture reflect that.
