Fernando Pessoa is a fucking genius, wtf. Reading A Hora do Diabo. I've never been so proud of speaking Portuguese.
Ive seen many bilingual editions of his poetry here (the complete works), but rather expensive. I wonder if they would be a good tool for unconsciously learning portuguese without making an effort.

It is worth every cent.
I was guessing that his writing would be boring af. Completely wrong.

Learning Portuguese Literature is really worth it, desu. It doesn't have much projection outside the Luso world, but it really is one of the best. Particularly our poetry, given our history with it.
Learning Portuguese is rarely better than learning Spanish, because it works only in the same niches (South America and Iberia) where Spanish also thrives and with a larger population. It's also a bit harder to speak and understand, and about as hard to read/write. So we're pretty much outclassed in every way.
Except Literature and Poetry. Even our colonies (Brazil first and foremost) have produced great literature and poetry. It honestly compares to the French and Italian literature, whilst being very unique and self-facing.

He's only a genius until you have to memorize his work so you can pass the exam
Jk, He's truly great. Shame we only know about him

Here's the same shit, but with other writers, such as Machado de Assis.
Didn't Pessoa leave everything he wrote unpublished on purpose?
