At the airport there were 20 odd yank students and everything about them was infuriating. Loud and obnoxious, constantly in the way of both staff and other passengers. Got off the flight on the other side after listening to them all for 4 hours from half way across the plane and went to the baggage retrieval. There they proceeded to crowd around the belt within the brightly marked yellow line and block both view and access for everyone else. Fortunately half of them were women or manlets so I saw mine. Absolutely fed up with it all I grabbed my bag (large hiking pack), threw it over my shoulder and barged back through them knocking over two of them. Headed straight for nothing to declare and didn't look back. I've never been particularly fond of yanks but now I absolutely loathe them.

this is always the complaint about us and it's so weird to me. americans don't take very much seriously and they'll talk to just about anybody for the sake of it. whenever i've gone abroad it doesn't take long before i'm ready to get back home. maybe it's just comfort or bias but most of the world is overly-serious about the most trivial things and generally unfriendly. the only places i've gotten along with people were in south america, they'll talk about their entire extended family with a total stranger down there, it's fantastic.
