How is midsummer celebrated in your country?
Here everyone goes to the countryside and consumes ridiculous amounts of booze. At midsummer night's eve we light up huge bonfires and spend time with friends and family. The whole country basically stops for one weekend.
you should stop practicing habits of your oppressors pekka

We go To Spain to drink or to greece to get nude.
Also we tan.
The whole thing consumes 2 to 3 weeks.
Then if you manage to arrive at St.Johns day in [Spain|Itally|Southern France|Portugal]
you expirience getting welcommed with fireworks at the beaches at night.
It's great.

In Italy we have "Ferragosto". It's not exactly mid summer though. It's about eating, doing nothing/stay with family and friends, go to some beach or, sometimes, party

Our midsummer pagan thing is actually picked up from some Balto-Slavic people that we took over after coming from the east. We also took farming and females from them.

Whether or not it's originally meant to represent a phallus has been debated for a long time, but there's very little, if any, evidence that that is actually the case. The more credible theory nowadays suggests early christian influences to Christianize a pagan celebration which is much older than Christianity in Scandinavia and perhaps even old than Christianity itself.
