Japan is famous for various living traditions and unique culture (to which the very website you are getting on now was dedicated to begin with). Religion-wise, Japan is one of the few countries that preserve and embrace its own national religion perfectly (all the Japanese are Shintoists before anything), while SK is christianized.

Capitalist doctrine and work ethic?
Japan had been known for its industriousness and passion for business before modernization, so it's not a result of modernization but Japanese nature. It's no accident that Japan rose as a capitalist powerhouse that rapidly, because, in a way, it had already been a capitalist nation. Japan was so commerce oriented that it even had the world's first futures contract market. This is also evident from the fact that Japan has by far the highest number of old companies (pic related) in the world which proves tradition and attitude towards business. I don't think it's coincidence that the top countries on the list are known for advanced economic powerhouses that produce good products today. Japan has become what it is today by being oneself.

Those studies tend to not count specifically blonde hair but "light hair", which includes everything that is not black or brown.
So yes, it is extremely diverse in that sense, as there are very many different shades of blonde as well as red hair in the area.
That's not even beginning on the, while smaller, still existent population that doesn't have light hair in the region, which is still quite noticeable should you actually be in one of those areas.
