In the middle ages up to modern times, being a male that produces lots of male offspring was a quality because boys died at higher rates than females and they were more valued by society because they were the succession of the family line.
Today we live in a society that protects life better and in consequence, our old natural selection ways produces more boys than girls. The genetic trait of the future is the one that breeds more little girls than little boys, in centuries from now, boys will be more scarce, women will be a majority (50% to 60%), taking us back to a healthy, natural ratio for human beans.

Yes, but males died more, now they don't anymore, so this self-imposed genetically engineered ratio will be replaced by a new one, more in line with our true needs.

Non-stop warfare ensured plenty of males didn't die of natural causes. In history there were smaller wars, but they were pretty much non-stop.
