There is a special word for "wife", but 90% of the time, when referring to your wife you say "my woman" (literally translated)

Eh kinda, sometimes we refer to the wife of a man as "su mujer" which translates to "his woman" even though there is a literal translation for "wife" which is "esposa"

We probably said "su esposa" more frequently in formal occasions
>>
[Woman] can mean [wife] when it's possessive.
[Your woman] = [your wife]
[My woman] = [my wife]
....
However in any other context [woman] is just a [woman].

This
>>
>>76188263
Old word for woman can be used as wife, but it's considered inapporpriate to use in formal speech.
So there is no word for wife, if you wan't to say someone's wife, you say "his life partner", or "his mistress".
>>
>>76188263
No, but it also doesn't distinguish "husband" and "man"
>>
>>76188263
Sometimes, basically same as the Greek above.
>>

>1.Malay
>2.Does it distinguish "wife" and "woman" ?
Maybe.
Wife = Isteri (neutral), Bini (informal)
Woman = Wanita (formal), Perempuan (neutral), Betina (vulgar)
Example:
a) Please take care of your isteri at home. Don't be a dayus (cuck). It's Haram.
b) Who doesn't love their isteri/bini.
c) Do not disturb my bini!
d) My perempuan is angry right now at home.
e) Useless betina!
>>
>>76188587
how do you say wife in greek?
>>
>>76188263
Yes, woman translates to "kvinna" and wife to "fru".
We don't distinguish between husband and man though.
>>
>>76189077
Σύζυγος
syzygos
see-zee-gosh
>>
>>76189065
>Don't be a dayus (cuck).
Is dayus a malay word, or arabic?
Here it means a pimp.
>>
>>76188572
>>76188535

Why are you using my language?
Why are you performing correct grammar and punctuation?

Don't mind him Pierre, he was bitten by a frenchman yesterday.
>>
>>76189161
It's a loanword from arabic.
>>
>>76188263

Based English making up words that are unnecessary, but ultimately helpful. Like how you guys have "history" and "story" whereas almost every other language in Europe uses the same word for both things (história, in Portuguese).
>>
>>76189256
It's zena for both in bg
>>
>>76189351
op asked about wife/woman not wife/husband
>>
>>76189351
nvm i'm dumb
nobody uses supruga here

Au premier abord, j'ai cru que mon cerveau traduisait la langue anglaise en français et que j'ai atteint un autre niveau de bilinguisme
>>
>>76189429
and the guy wrote woman already, hope one extra bit of information isnt overloading your brain
>>
>>76188535
En français, « femme » est plus utilisée qu' « épouse ».

>>
yes, but "woman" can also be used as "wife".
>>
>>76188263
yes, but woman can be used also for wife
>>
>>76188587
This. No one really says my esposa (wife), it's my mujer (woman) 90% of the time. Latinos use esposa more.
>>
>>76189732
Same thing in French
>>
>>76189210
