is this type of vehicle common in your country?

>Norway
No

no sane person in Norway would ever consider sitting in one of these
>>
Do you mean those full size pick ups or pick ups in general? We don't have many full size pick ups, but mid size pick up trucks are very common on the countryside and in the construction industry.

I've driven one at work because I towed some trailers and stuff.
>>
No, it's too expensive and too big for us.

Yes here in northern Sweden both modern and old pick up trucks are popular.
Perfect for hauling huge loads of firewood and a shot moose or two.
>pic related, second truck is my brothers, we drive it pretty much everywhere
>yes I'm in the pic, the most comfortable of all

The military and people living in the backwoods use them. Not anybody else really. One time at the mall I witnessed some jackass in a true and blue 'Merrican pick up trying to hunt 5 empty spaces in a row to park his barge. I don't know if he ever managed to.

What he said.
Trucks are as common as Volvo here in the north.
I drive one as well.
>>
dad has a couple of them, we only use them to pick up building material or car parts. I used to ride a Doge 1500 pick up back when I was 15 and worked for my uncle making bus parts deliveries.
I don't see any point of owning one of these if you don't use them for work, I can understand why cityfags and self entitled hipsters with humanities diplomas hate them, it constantly reminds them that they haven't had a good day of work in their entire lives.

Pick up trucks? Not very common here. They do exist though, a farmer in my village has a Ford one.

Most people just use SUVs and trailers to haul stuff.

>fills the weight limit for a regular drivers license all by itself
>can't transport more in the bed than a car with a trailer can, plus the bed is less accessible, plus it's the only cargo area in the vehicle and exposed to weather and theft
>you can detach a car trailer, however the pickup bed is permanently stuck to your vehicle and makes parking a nightmare
>it's also wide as fuck, making driving worse as well
>all the size and weight result in a horrible fuel economy
>only comfortable because of sheer dimension in wheelbase and suspension, not because it's actually engineered or built well which it isn't
No one right in their mind owns these things here. And by no one right in their mind I mean that there are people owning these things here, but they're either hopeless posers who simply want something bigger than anyone else, or hopeless Ameriboos who have made their vehicle choice a lifestyle choice. A work colleague actually owns a Dodge SRT10 pickup truck with a Dodge Viper engine, and I think he's the former. Anyone else with a use for the cargo space will simply strap a more economical, more practical trailer behind their car on the few occasions a year.

Predominant in the countryside.

Here in São Paulo not as much.

Also half the time I see a big pickup truck it's got the name of construction company, landscaping company or wrecking company on the side, but it's sparkly clean and presumably belongs to the company owner while the vans and van flatbeds do the actual work.

It's the lifestyle. Old American cars (30's, 40's,50's and 60's), classic rock n roll and leather jackets.
People join clubs and work on their cars, have cruises through the towns and just enjoy them self.
Got first hand experience, my dad is one of them.
>>76105723
Because America isn't like that anymore.
And Sweden actually has more classic 50's American cars than America does them self any more.

We don't have much snow. 20 inches annual I think. We also don't have long driveways. And if we did it would still be far more economical to strap a plow in front of the lawnmower instead of buying a commercial snow plowing outfit and driving around with a snow plow on our daily driver all winter. Or better yet, use a hand plow and get some physical exercise so that your country's average BMI doesn't rocket past 30.
>>
Yes somewhat, people with their own business can drive them without tax, they convert them to drive on CNG. If you buy them for private use they cost like €80K or so.

A lot of people here live outside of city limits and off dirt roads and shit where it's up to them to maintain like a mile of road and driveway. Usually there's one family of rednecks who will actually buy plow attachments and shit and fix the road and everyone's driveways for fun.
>>
>>76106156
Good for them I guess.
>>
>>76105991
I need one where I'm at, half meter snow overnight is common, and most driveways in my area are maybe 30 meters long at least

Mines longer than that haha if it counts as a driveway. 12 km of dirt road to my house, all private.
I have an old Ford Bronco from 79 that could plow it if I had a plow that fit but I use a tractor instead.
>>
>>76106658

I wouldn't say they're big but it's not rare to see the men in vests.
>>
It is.Toyota Hilux,Volkswagen Amarok, Ford Ranger, etc.
>>
>>76106677
Holy shit, mine is only 100 meters off the road.
Did you have to pay for the electric lines to go out there?
If on private property you would pay here.

Yes tons of them as well. There is a lot of small crews and gangs that ride around but also the gigantic ones like Bandidos and of course Hells Angels that roam around Sweden.
I live like 45 minutes from one of their clubhouse

No they were there from the owner before me, but I did upgrade it last year with new cables and a grid box half way. That cost me a pretty penny.

we also have plow attachments for pick up trucks, but tractors are more commonly used for this purpose
>>
>>76107230
Yes. The cops raid their houses all the time and they are pretty much always in the news somehow. But they also work as guards, muscle for hire and hitmen etc.
But Bandidos is the worst. Nothing but a pack of violent scum.
Hells Angels at least act with some kind of honor.
They never bother normal people in the towns where they stay. Just last month there was like 150 of them in my town, they kept it low and left without trouble.
H.A and Bandidos are extremely hostile towards each other though. Straight out war.
>>
Pickups are slowly becoming more common. An ideal car for Russia: 4 x 4, big and practical. We need more affordable models. Japan, pls help.
>>
>>76107184
Yeah sound about right.
I payed around $35k for the upgrades but I got away cheap, my brother runs the company I hired haha. Worth it though, before the wires couldn't handle all the power a modern home uses. Caused black out sometimes.

I see them out on the countryside, not as common though.
This car, pic related, has become really popular recently. I don't understand why, it's so ugly.
>>
>>76107961

That "thing" slapped onto it's sides really tops off the whole thing like Nissan Juke's retarded headlights.
>>
>>76098971
That very same model is very common among the upper class. It's kind of a sign of status, not many use them for carrying heavy stuff, i think. I personally disliked them a lot since they seem to use a lot of gas, which of course is not a good thing, especially since all that gas is wasted on the vainity of the car's owner
>>
>>76098971
Pick up trucks are hardly seen in Japan, but Kei-tra meaning light truck that is small version of pick up truck is prevalent.
