Do you mean those full size pick ups or pick ups in general? We don't have many full size pick ups, but mid size pick up trucks are very common on the countryside and in the construction industry.

Yes here in northern Sweden both modern and old pick up trucks are popular.
Perfect for hauling huge loads of firewood and a shot moose or two.

I drive one as well.

dad has a couple of them, we only use them to pick up building material or car parts. I used to ride a Doge 1500 pick up back when I was 15 and worked for my uncle making bus parts deliveries.
I don't see any point of owning one of these if you don't use them for work, I can understand why cityfags and self entitled hipsters with humanities diplomas hate them, it constantly reminds them that they haven't had a good day of work in their entire lives.

Pick up trucks? Not very common here. They do exist though, a farmer in my village has a Ford one.

Most people just use SUVs and trailers to haul stuff.

No one right in their mind owns these things here. And by no one right in their mind I mean that there are people owning these things here, but they're either hopeless posers who simply want something bigger than anyone else, or hopeless Ameriboos who have made their vehicle choice a lifestyle choice. A work colleague actually owns a Dodge SRT10 pickup truck with a Dodge Viper engine, and I think he's the former. Anyone else with a use for the cargo space will simply strap a more economical, more practical trailer behind their car on the few occasions a year.

We don't have much snow. 20 inches annual I think. We also don't have long driveways. And if we did it would still be far more economical to strap a plow in front of the lawnmower instead of buying a commercial snow plowing outfit and driving around with a snow plow on our daily driver all winter. Yes somewhat, people with their own business can drive them without tax, they convert them to drive on CNG. If you buy them for private use they cost like €80K or so.
