Post commieblocks you live in/see on a daily basis
Pic related is where i live, even though its a commieblock it is one of the most prestigious districts in Istanbul
The north part of my university's campus looks like commie blocs.
Window view.
>>76019461
Are those dorms or something else?
>>76019516
fucking shit
this is how fucking hell must look like
>>76019516
for some reason it looks comfy as fuck to me
>>76019516
how the fuck Russia has a similar gdp per capita to Poland?
>>76019523
Dorms, yeah.
The north side of campus looks more like a typical university (commieblocks are on the south side, my bad).

Here's my house
>>76019773
the red ones look ok though
>>76019516
Comfy yet horrifying at the same time desu
just took it
view from my current house
not the one in >>76019406
>>76019406
I live close to pic related. It's a Tibetan enclave now. Some of the buildings are owned by Swedish Akelius.
>>76019516
wow, i instantly want to kill myself
that is fucking depressing
i bet it is from some 50 years ago though
>>76020325
More like 2000
Welcome to eastern europe
Its even worse here than in russia :(
>>76020408
I visited Prague and rode in a bus across Czechia. There is a ring of ugly buildings around Prague with an IKEA in their midst, but otherwise the city looks butifel you lying Pepik.
>>76020408
no way it can be worse.
btw most of the pics from russia didn't look as depressing to me as this one. some are even comfy. but this one is fucking hell.
The so-called Affenfelsen or Rock of the apes as we call the the Rock of Gibraltar. It's the main student dormitory.
Buildings that are next to my street
>>76019516
actually looks cozy
Maybe it's because i grew up in Bulgaria and we have similar commie blocks. It seems dirt poor but I never felt poor, and actually felt like i had a community i belonged to.
Looking at it now i can't believe i used to live there and never felt bad. I loved it actually, everyone was happy

Buildings down the street
>>76020967
turkey looks so first world
>>76020862
because you were a kid and didn't have to provide for yourself?
>>76020999
thats just my district
theres shit places like this in İstanbul such as Güngören, Esenyurt, Atışalanı and so where Kurds and Syrians are majority
>>76021067
that still looks first world
your pic looks like dresden
>>76020999
another example
>>76021067
which part of town has the best airbnb options? meaning cheap and not too ugly.
not mine but looks extremly similar to my pre-ww2 commieblock. I also live near a forest park. feels comfy
>>76021099
this looks alright but traffic seems to be pretty bad
do you have subway?
Not living there, but I am around there a lot. The only other commie blocks in the city are on the outer parts of the city, so I don't see them often.
It is also the biggest structure here.
>>76021095
and one is right next to me
>>76021106
I would say either my place which is called Atakent or around Büyükçekmece
>>76021155
Yeah we do have subways and that much of traffic is considered an open road in Ä°stanbul
>>76021264
for some reason all my photos are rotated but bear with it
>>76021067
that still looks okay
if that's the worst place, then turkey made a lot of progress
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpDXSAl4QZU
This is how commeblock is born
>>76021095
Not really, mate.
>>76019516
Jesus
>>76021401
We did make a lot of progress but look at this shit
Worst part is i live 10 mins away from this favela looking PKK infested shithole
typical spanish
>>76021477
This looks like the "okay" parts of Georgia (the ex-Communist country, not the US state).
Nothing looks as bad as Russia.
>Germany
>first world
>>76020217
looks like a typical japanese building
I've only stayed in a commieblock in Ljubljana. There aren't any around me because everyone lives in a house their family built
>>76021557
i like communist commieblocks though
my grandpa lived (and still does) in the 12th floor of a commieblock called Alipasino Polje in Bosnia and it was so fucking comfy to see all those other grey-scaled commieblocks
>>76021538
same street
>>76021630
>because everyone lives in a house their family built
this sounds good, but probably means that people are too poor to afford to pay a company
>>76021630
which city anon
>>76021659
>>76021659
Now comes the hard part, 100 meters down in the same street
>>76021054
Probably. But the way people speak about EE (especially what they taught us at school) has people thinking we're all miserable and dying there. Not saying it's a paradise but no one I knew was miserable and dying. The streets look like shit but every kid has a computer, phone, etc.
Makes me wonder if countries like BG will ever improve their infrastructure though, or if they'll just get worse
Here's a nicer image of the same town
>>76019461
Comfy
>>76021820
they arent that commie tee bee aitch
>>76021820
It's funny seeing people trying to find bad parts of their towns, it's nothing compared to eastern europe lel
>>76021831
another cosy picture
>>76021890
balconies look cute af
>>76021831
No one believes that you're miserable and dying on the streets. But if the difference weren't so great, we wouldn't have millions of immigrants in Western Europe.
>>76021699
Oh they do nowadays and they're all mostly pretty nice and sturdy unlike McMansions in America.
>>76021745
>city
Not sarajevo
>>76021947
Okay, that looks good, I'd admit. I still don't believe that your average Bosniak has that for himself.
this is where half of the muslims live in my city
I go here to a mall
>>76021947
but which one man im curious
>>76021853
Some buildings not, but others yes.
What I want to say is that the communist architectural inspiration along with the negligence and conformism of the society has allowed to destroy great part of our cities, and eye that this is of a town with a high purchasing power in the region, then you go to other places And you see hell.
Now I will put my provincial capital, considered one of the ugliest cities in Spain
>>76022066
On the way
If if I could show you every house in my municipality I would. I think the interior of homes look nicer here tho
>>76021890
>>76022250
>>76022198
>>76021993
>>76022070
Somewhere between Cazin and Bihac
>>76022190
Near the river
>>76022326
we are far apart then
im from gorazde
>>76022198
most germans don't own their own appartment, much less their own house
but most bosniaks do
i guess wealth is relative desu
>>76022370
My acquaintance from Germany said it's because it's just easier to rent. You can the change place with a work, pay less taxes etc.
>>76021627
That one was renovated by Akelius (you can see the logo on the bottom right) and rents were increased, probably to get rid of the low income Tibetans.
>>76022526
close to Güngören tier but still not as bad
We don't have commie blocks
>>76022579
Hmm?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xxn9-IPJsS4
>>76022370
>most germans don't own their own appartment, much less their own house
How did that happen? When I think of Germany I think of those comfy villages with the wooded pattern homes.
>>76022162
This is real life?
>>76022579
here in new york a lot of the public housing looks like commieblocks, especially in the bronx but i dont go there much
these always remind me of commieblocks
>>76022640
Here's Berlin.
>>76022676
arent these from gta iv i remember a mission in one of these
>>76022676
They're based on the same Le Corbusier's "towers in a park" principle just like the commie blocks. What makes them horrible are the types of tenants.
pls kill me
>>76022162
serious?
>>76022636
>>76022676
I was thinking in my state. I don't care about other states
>>76022811
C O M F Y
>>76022574
>Güngören
no, trust me, is worst.
At least your buildings have roofs
>>76022891
buildings maybe
tenants not so much
>>76022811
At least they're painted/well taken care of. Honestly I hate this type of city planning/types of buildings. I much prefer pic related, late 19th/early 20th century city planning and architecture .
Norilsk city, -42 C
lived in a commieblock till I was 4 years old, then we moved to a family house with a nice big garden
still, while going to work or into the downtown I pass by lots of commieblocks, this one's by far the biggest - it's the largest commieblock in the country, actually, housing 3,000 people
Rate the commieblock in which I live.
>>76023166
Looks great
>>76022640
Germany has a very low home ownership rate, because of WW2.
>>76023166
I envy you. My commieblock is even worse
>>76023684
You should move here.
>>76019406
>>76023015
Looks dystopian as fuck.
>>76019516
nice try
Literally my college campus.
I've explored these buildings and the most exciting thing we ever found was a stoner hangout spot.
>>76023887
What the FUCK? Do you have places like this in USA? I would never have guessed.
>>76023887
What the fuck kind of shithole is this?
>>76023920
This is the off limits part of the campus and it is unique in that its an old army base that's been renovated. Half of the campus is old army buildings from the 60s and the other half is new developments.
Most colleges are not like this, in fact almost none of them are. Every year they demolish a few more buildings and build out a bit more. The problem is asbestos and other 60s era material that takes so long to get through regulations.
>>76024068
>>76024130
The pool is the best part.
We used to throw rocks as high as we could to break the ceiling windows.
>>76023887
This looks terrible but it's really cheating if it's in Monterrey. I thought this was Detroit or something.
>>76019516
Fuck me that is depressing
>>76024375
It is in Monterey.
It's just in Seaside though, like 15 minutes from the downtown touristy part.
>>76024512
Pretty cool, I had no idea that existed. This building is still in use at Berkeley for some reason.
>>76024716
I've been to that building.
Berkeley is so big. 2big4me
>>76024907
Jordan A cute I tell you. CUTE
>>76024779
The campus? Yeah it's really spread out. Don't know why they had to add these shit buildings
>>76025187
Yeah and there's a fuckton of people, too.
My school only had like 4-5000 people when I lived there. It was a quiet commuter college and since then I think they've added as many buildings and people as possible really fast. There was a big campus housing crisis when I was there.
>>76024907
it looks really okay, but i bet life is harsh here
>>76025530
Yeah that sounds better. I'm sick of how crowded and expensive it is here. Just have to get out to the coast/redwoods more often
>>76027172
y-you have m-museums in the US?
b-but isn't that about culture? introspection? intellectualism? the things you avoid so much?
>>76021231
>Commieblock <> any high rise building
>>76027252
>tatuape
Hello neighbor!
>>76024716
It needs a new layer of paint. But beyond that i don't see any structural flaws or broken windows.
>>76027231
Yes Achmed, we even have schools in some places.
View from my window
Why is it always buildings? In small countries, sure, but in places like Russia that have plenty of room and land, why not make houses?
Surely we aren't the only country bulding commiehouses, are we?
>>76028740
Russia basically gobbled on hardcore commie memes, because each house needs some extensive heating and insulation during harshest winter.
So central planning for Moscow and projects further North, basically infected the rest of the USSR, and hardcore commie blocks was the result. Then again: Half the reason its so ugly, its that in the commie Moral you don't maintain the exterior of such buildings.
My view..
>tfw no commieblocks in britain
>>76022066
it looks cozy :3
>>76022640
>How did that happen?
>>76022682
>>76019406
>>76030541
That's my favorite kind of overcast but the buildings really give it that nice dystopian shithole edge I was looking for.
>>76022579
>Harlem
>>76028366
It's a functional building of course. But it's kind of shame that we have these shitty mismatched buildings when the rest of campus is pretty nice (for an American school)
>>76023844
What do you mean
>>76030541
what's that parking chaos about?
>>76033509
Russanon said window view
>>76033738
that filename lmao
>>76030541
now that's grim
used to drive by this one all the time back in Venezuela, the country is full of em
>>76036762
looks like a prison
