You need some minimum standard for Whiteness. Otherwise the category is meaningless.

But you can't have a static standard - there will always be a push to expand it because meeting the standard affords superior status. Thus it is necessary to push the other way. That means the minimum standard of Whiteness must be made more exclusive over time, to protect against it being made more inclusive.

This. Not many people remember before White supremacy was Nordic supremacy in the 19th/20th century. Then it included the rest of Europe slowly. Nowadays I even see people saying that countries like Lebanon, Iran, Tunisia etc etc are white.
(although that's probably due to foreign diaspora lmao)

You mean like in Latin America? Isn't something like that more to do with how whites were given special privileges like access to (decent) education and resources that non-whites weren't?
Our own Abos for example, were being educated in the Stolen Generation era but the education they were given never really went beyond low labour stuff so it's still rare to see anyone of note in the aboriginal community.
