Thank god for the Chinese.
Most white people I know think culture is a dirty word (I've had friends get offended by things like fucking chandlers and ornamental carpets because "those are just status symbols eat the rich lmao"), and even the well off ones affect a ridiculous blue collar attitude of working shitty minimum wage labor intensive jobs and complaining all the time about how hard life is (usually all their problems are traced back to their drug addictions but if I point out their own agency in their situation "I don't know what its like to be them") while I've been insulted for being pretentious enough to go to college.
But whenever I'm ready to write off humanity as a whole and embrace a life of resolute solitude, I'll meet some quite Chinese or Japanese guy who just wants to study and climb the social ladder, who appreciates European art and can play classical music on at least one instrument, who has realistic yet lofty ambitions rather than arrogant pretensions, and who despite facing all kind of absurd racist insults hurled by all sorts of ignorant cretans manages to be meek and polite. And when I meet those people I always invite them to a coffee and a game of chess, and I realize the future is brighter than it seems.
Sure a few of them are stupid new money scumbags, but for the most part Asians are an extremely decent group of people and I can't wait till they completely take over society in two generations.

white as chalk here but can confirm that canada did pretty ok in terms of immigrants
in a fair bit of european nations, large immigrant populations arrived there without proper integration (job programs, language courses, western finance etc)
so in the end, you see entire neighbourhoods/slums of people who don't have proper skills for work, don't have the native language to speak to most of their countrymen, and are usually poorer due to this isolation from the rest of the country. this makes both native europeans mad at immigrants for their failure to assimilate, and reciprocating feelings towards the native euros and the gov't for allowing them in but offering little support once arrived
Canada did two things right about immigration: merit-based immigration (dat brain drain), and basically offering any support program for further integration into our society
it's kinda ironic that the native population of Canada is basically the underclass while the immigrant populations are already well-to-do for themselves within less than a year here, and are nearly entirely integrated within 2 generations or so
