Why do Jordan, Bhutan and Ethiopia have English medium education although they have no history of British rule?
>>75391281
Jordan literally exists because of Britain m8
>>75391542
Holy shit. How did I not know that? This is so embarrassing. I can't even delete the thread now.
They took it from the Ottomans after WW1

B-but at least I got the bit about Bhutan and Ethiopia right.
>>75392255
>Bhutan
Dig a bit further mate.
>>75392337
pres butan lmao
>>75391281
Jordan was taken over by the Brits after the Ottoman Empire crumbled. Bhutan although it was never colonized was under the British sphere of influence. I think Ethiopia has to do with English being the dominant language internationally.
>>75392337
Ar-are you sure?
>>75391858
Its a pretty long history but.
>Hashemite king rules over Mecca, Medina, Saudi Arabia
>Ally with Brits during WW1 to btfo the Ottomans
>Hashemite king gets btfo by the Saudi dynasty
>brits feel bad, makes his sons king of jordan, iraq, syria
>get btfo out of syria and iraq
>jordan was literally a piece of sand with barely any people
Ethiopia is really interesting country, I want to visit that country.
>never colonised except for a dozen years
>Orthodox Christians (not exactly desu)
>were an empire with dynasty claiming origin from king Solomon until commies fucked it 40 years ago
>Adis Ababa is capital of AU
>100m people
I wonder if it's decent country or just another African shithole

Better than most, still Africa-tier though, mostly by virtue of being African.
>>75392794
I like the way their written language looks.
>>75392944

>>75393032
It does but it's completely unrelated.
