The US could easily be among them, the US is by a big chunk richer than all of these countries.

The reason is that you have a broken political system that can be literally bought out by a powerful and entrenched elite.

I mean just take healthcare as an example.

Your healthcare system is both more expensive and less covering than all other systems of major western states and who is profiting from it? The poor? No, they don't even have coverage. The middle class? No, since they are paying the higher premiums that have to cover the defaults of the poor people's ER visits?

So who exactly is profiting from this stupid arrangement? It is with healthcare and virtually anything with the US just the very, very rich. The upper 1-5%.
