BTW, if we are talking about non-artistic French movies, then this thriller is very decent:

But if we are talking about more ambitious productions, then one can find surprisingly many French movies about some high/middle class people slowly living their meaningful lifes, the last example I saw at a cinema was L'avenir with Isabelle Huppert. It would be interesting if these movies contained some deeper social commentary, but usually it's just like some characters live in luxurious apartments, there is some unfaithful husband or wife, but ultimately their cheating is meaningful because everyone is extremely apathetic. Or there is a girl who for no reason becomes a prostitute (Jeune et Jolie by Ozon), or there is some bored older woman (Swimming Pool by Ozon), etc. etc.
