I and other Americans may be skewed because a lot of us have German ancestors (A lot of Canadians do too even if they won't admit it). For my German family the world wars were literally pointing a gun towards your cousins. We sent food, money and clothes to our relatives after WW2 ended (my grandfather was a bomber pilot but never flew over Europe). We still keep in contact with our relatives even though we are more distant now.

They're nice but naive, people in mexico have this 6th sense that prevents them from going to dangerous zones even if they're not locals, apparently Americans don't have that and you sometimes see them roaming in the weirdest of places. Mexico and Cuba but sadly not Argentina. I've met plenty of Argies here and on top of that there are big cultural tie between Wales and Patagonia, so I've met a few muh heritage Argie tourists back home who've told me things about life there.

I just asked around at language academies until I got offered my first job, but it's less complicated for me because of the EU and whatnot. There are Americans here working in academies and state schools, but for the State schools I don't know what agency they apply through.

Ahh OK. I'm from New England and my university was 15% Foreign (maybe half of that was Europeans) and we were abnormal. Our soccer team was like half European (pic related when we played schools with mostly Americans). The teams recruiter was a devious motherfucker. Unfortunately we had 0 school spirit.

I have a TESOL but I'm not sure how much it helped. I'd recommend trying to be a teaching assistant in a state school, that way you can't get sacked unless you do something wrong.
