I can assure you this isn't the case. Ireland perhaps not so much, but that's literally because their culture is more similar to ours. As someone who lives abroad I can assure you, if you grew up here, you would be a different person. When you start learning a language and start understanding what the people around you are saying, you realise that their entire mindset is coming from a different place, they different concepts of so many things from principles to trivial things.
