They taught me barely anything. Just a lot of theory and the types of alcohols and a bunch of other REALLY useless crap in a real situation.

Once I hit the actual bars it was an entirely different world. Nothing works like in the books. They don't tell you about logistics, about all the extra shit you'll have to do and they don't even tell you that you'll be making basic shit like coffee or fresh juices half the time.

Literally over 80% of my orders at the beach bar were beer, coffee / hot drinks and fresh juices. Cocktails were extremely rare. Most I made were mojitos which is basically 3 types of water and grass, and I only made one single sex on the beach lol.

Club nights were a whole different story. There it's mostly straight vodka / whiskey / baileys and lots of shots.

It's truly amazing how the drinks change with the bar. Some "bars" it's only hot drinks, discotheques it's shots / entire bottles and beach bars are mostly beer, fresh juices and hot drinks.

But I was told that if you can work at a beach bar, you can work anywhere, simply because the clientelle is so large that you are busy 12 hours straight. You develop a quick brain to prioritize which drinks to make first, otherwise you're wasting time. It's an amazing fast-paced job that isn't for everybody. Many ppl lost their shit and threw in the towel.
