They cant actually so far. You can discover real original stuff from them if you really try hard to research it in a place like Bandcamp but at the same time millennials are corrupt tame assholes who eat up internet hiveminds or AAA/blockbuster normie garbage, so they cant even realize what is real fresh/new/decent shit. I mean, they've killed their own talents from their generations.

I blame western media, especially magazines that were covering indie/underground stuff. There were some quality ones before, but since they've started to pander to the internet audiences fashions and dramas and stopped researching something cool on their own, everything gets worse.

Most people dont research it cause it actually takes time and is tiresome, its what media and such critics should do. But they became incredibly lazy and stopped doing it at all. And probably they actually didnt have any clue about what is new and valuable after social media came out. As a result, those talented ones have just remained in a vacuum without anyone noticing it and only the internet hivemind approved stuff has gained popularity. I still have researched such stuff myself tho.
