The Liberal Party campaigns by pandering to left-wingers, but when they get into power they govern as moderates or even slightly to the right. That doesn't really sound so bad in and of itself, but they are corrupt and incompetent as fuck. Also, Justin Trudeau is an empty suit. His job is to show up for photo ops and get the party elected, I doubt that the power brokers in the party actually let him make any decisions.

Literally the most spineless, centrist, flip flopping panderers in the world. The Liberal party just takes whatever policies are popular from the left or the right and makes it their own. Sometimes they are centre left, supporting progressive/social democrat causes, sometimes they are protectionist and other times free market, sometimes they are centre right and fiscally conservative, in the Maritimes they are making abortions difficult to get whereas at the federal level you have Justin Trudeau making half of his cabinet women.

Both are virtually identical when it comes to governing i.e. suck corporate dick and enrich themselves at the expense of everyone else. Might as well have a one party state desu.

Vlaams Belang: hard-line right-wing Flemish-Nationalists. Very small, pretty much incapable of receiving funding. If they ever got any votes, every party is sworn to refuse any alliances with them.
N-VA: right-wing somewhat moderate Flemish-Nationalists. Currently the biggest and part of the ruling coalition. Tried to split Belgium. Is currently part of the government, has delivered the secretary for migration, for animal wellbeing and for equal opportunity, which has caused a pushback against what some would term SJW cancer.
CD&V: Catholics. Right-conservatives, have been cosying up to the growing Muslim population lately. 2nd largest in Flanders, most popular in rural areas. In the government, has been pulling to the left since there are so many right-wing parties in.
Open VLD: Flemish Liberals & Democrats. Conservative liberals, technically the oldest political party in Belgium. Flemish Nr 3 together with sp.a. In the government.
sp.a: socialists and SJWs. Love raising taxes, dislike people who work to earn their own money. Sometimes even take measures to reduce healthcare for some reason.
Groen: literally "green". Similar to sp.a, but with an environmentalist and pacifist slant.
PVDA: actual Marxists who try to steal votes from the other socialists. Tiny, for now.

Ecolo: Walloon Groen.
PS: Walloon socialists. The biggest party in our southern half, as many Walloons do not have a job. Delivered our first gay prime minister a few years back.
MR: Walloon (centre)right conservatives. Currently the only Walloon party in the government, so they got to deliver all the Francophone ministers and the prime minister.
cdH: Walloon Catholics and humanists. 3d biggest francophone party.
PP: rather small. Liberal conservatives who want less government.
Défi: fight for francophone interests, but mostly active in Brussels rather than Wallonia.
