As an ethnic Arab who has travelled through pretty much every Slavic nation, I found that most of them hold grudges to many people groups (much more so than the West), Muslims being one of them. Why? Well, Muslims aren't popular anywhere, so let's not act surprised.

Some countries like Bulgaria and Serbia have very valid reasons, namely the Ottoman yoke which held back their countries for centuries. Same, to a lesser extent could be said about Russians and the Tatar yoke and recent Chechen terrorism, although the latter is a direct result of Russian imperialism in my view.

Poles also tend to hold grudges, especially towards Russia, but to a lesser extent other countries like Germany. They are a hateful people. You don't need to do much to be hated in Poland. Then how do you think they perceive a group which actually has valid reasons to be hated? They'll put their hate in overdrive. Arabs just tend to be the face of Islam, so they are the most hated. I recently saw a picture that showed the most hated groups in Poland, and Arabs were on top, more hated than Russians, and more than gypsies too.

Actually, having left in the West for a long time and having travelled to every corner of the world, to six continents, I find that we are hated everywhere. Some people are just more open in their hate, whereas others try to be polite.

I tend not to point fingers and I understand people who hate Islam, but I think the hate towards us is exaggerated. I think it's just the American propaganda machine which contributed greatly to this. They did the same to Russians in the past.
