Most people practicing these religions actually don't know shit about the religion. Most "Christians" and "muslims" today aren't even real Christians and muslims. Most "christians" don't actually practice what Jesus teaches and just believe their own personal bullshit, they're just cultural "christians".

People that are born in religious families usually don't have a choice. They're brainwashed since birth to believe in whatever religion their parents taught them to believe. Why would they think religion is false? Their parents wouldn't lie to them, right? They'll eventually teach their kids about religion too, and it'll go on in a loop.
