What are your opinions on durians /int/? Love it or hate it? It is reaaly bad as other people say it is?
I've only tried one but I don't think it was completely fresh or ripe.
It smelled and tasted like garbage.
I'll maintain an open mind and try one that is higher quality though.

Where did you bought it? While we're at it, how much did it cost?
They smell, really, really bad. Never tried one but if the smell if anything to go by, I don't want to.
Hong Kong reeks of these.

an Asian market in Arizona which isn't all that close to the coastal ports
when I go back to commiefornia I'll grab one right off the boat
I don't remember how much it cost
Apparently whether you hate it or love it is at least partially genetic, some people have the olfactory receptors to perceive the pleasant parts of the smell while others can only smell the horrible parts.

Huh, for me they don't really smell at all despite it coming from the jungles of my country. Ants are a different story though

I heard that in other countries outside of SEA they are usually quite pricey, is it true in the US?

>... its odor is best described as pig-shit, turpentine and onions, garnished with a gym sock. It can be smelled from yards away. Despite its great local popularity, the raw fruit is forbidden from some establishments such as hotels, subways and airports, including public transportation in Southeast Asia.[38]
>Other comparisons have been made with the civet, sewage, stale vomit, skunk spray and used surgical swabs.[33]
whats the point when theres all these other delicious fruits you can grow there? is it like surstromming that people eat it because it's macho?
