>>
>>74614116
Nigel Farage is a cunt without principles.
He started his party on a free-market pro-business platform and now he supports people like Le Pen who are protectionist socialists for the sole reason that she also opposes the EU and immigration.
The main reason she opposes the EU is ironically because she doesn't like that the EU forces countries to have free trade with each other and not implement tariffs on other EU countries

EU will be dead soon when all these Eastern Euro countries will suck all of the money out of Germany.

Eastern Euros tend to have better balanced budgets than Southern Euros.
If anyone is going to bankrupt the EU it's the PIGS
>>
>>74617353
This. East is bad, but just look at Portugal, Greece and Italy.

The best thing that can happen to the EU is if Italy splits in two and mafia land goes away, Turkey can have Greece back and Portugal gets their shit together.
>>
>>74612029

> Brexit will likely only cause a mild rise in inflation and some lost GDP growth for the UK as both the EU and UK still wish to retain ties and relations. Worst scenario we simply arrange a transitional withdrawal
> No real rise in support for Scottish independence, SNP support decreasing as economic case for independence is non-existent
> Problems facing the EU such as the growing political East / West divide, migrant crisis and financial mismanagement are still not being correctly addressed, the EU's structure make it difficult to implement the changes that Macron proposes, not including the eventual gap left by UK funding that needs to be filled.
> Increasingly dictatorial leader of country slowly becoming a third-world islamist shithole becoming more hostile to EU as it rejects ascension attempts, could throw spanner in works of migrant deal

>>
>>74617742
I agree on your first point, but I think you make it sound too easy. I think the UK is in for a couple of rough years, but they'll bounce back.

The EU and UK have no interest in not trading openly with each other, but the Eu won't compromise a whole lot, if the UK gets away fine with Brexit then why shouldn't any other nations go as well? There's a political stake there that's bigger than the UK.
>>
>>74617911
and i'm sure when we do exit ourselves you will never never never ally with Turkey and make an example out of us, again.

Damn Greece needs a nuclear arsenal so much.
>>
>>74618396

Even with no deal it's not that sure that the UK will completely sink.

Will it be bad enough to put UK on its knees, nothing is less sure.
>>
>>74612029
Why would they? What advantage is there to joining the EU other than "muh free trade"?

>WITHOUT EUROPEAN TRADE BRITAIN WILL CRUMBLE
1. Britain leaving the Free Trade area doesn't mean the EU suddenly stops trading with Britain. It will just happen less than before.
2. There's still an entire planet Britain can make bilateral trade agreements with, just like the EU.
3. Leaving the Free Trade area actually gives Britain an increased ability to protect its own economy and encourage British consumers to buy locally.

>B-BUT MUH POSITION IN THE WORLD. BRITAIN IS IRRELEVANT!
The fuck are you expecting, that the Russians will land on the shores of Dover? America is preventing that, without demanding total control of British politics on top of that. And what's Germany going to do anyway, with its "self-defense force" where 25% of "soldiers" are too fat to even participate in a war? Your demonic country is lucky that the French voted for Macron and didn't collapse your little house of cards. Germany's military power will come from a treacherous French political class that will send French soldiers to die for German interests.

My apologies, but Britain is, has been and always will be superior to Germany in every way, shape or form. Your fourth attempt at creating a pitiful "empire" will collapse just like the previous three.

>>74617260
Don't quote me on this, but I think the Spanish constitution flat out prohibits independence referenda, and has some clause about the nation being indissolvable. Unlike the UK, which as the name implies has at its foundation a union between four sovereign kingdoms.

The EU hasn't been a mere economic union for decades, mate. This changed around the time the EEC became the EC. The free trade zone is just the carrot on a stick Germany uses to force itself on other countries in the political sphere. If you doubt this, ask yourself why we don't see anything from the EU's foreign representative. Yes, there is one, and there's a very good reason why you haven't heard of her: everyone who wants to deal with the EU goes to Merkel first and foremost.

None of that changes the fact that leaving the free trade area will fuck the UK tremendously.
The only reason the economists in that survey didn't all vote "Strongly Agree" with max certainty is that some of them are hoping the Brexit negotations could result in "a status quo" with the UK maintaining free trade with Europe, read the opinions.

Mama Merkel isn't even relevant to the question.

Amma read that link of yours, but I'm pretty certain that "tremendously" is a huge exaggeration. It will be a hit in the short term, but in the long term I doubt Britain will be fucked harder than France and its record unemployment and daily terrorist attacks. That's what happens when you give away control of your currency and borders. And now that idiot Macron even wants an EU finance minister to boot!

Lad, we've spent years blowing /int/ the fuck out. First you had everyone here championing Scottish independence for a good year beforehand and then attacking Scotland when they voted to stay. Then we had the leaving the EU business. We told them we're leaving to much derision, then they went full damage control afterwards. "Y-you'll never make it"

They've gone full circle and are back to talking about Scottish independence now.

>>74622456
Assuming the EU actually does well for some magical reason and the Brits want to rejoin, it is a loss for the Brits. They joined under a very special condition which allowed them to opt out of pretty much everything. They will not gain that privilege the next time they try to join. They will be forced to join under all conditions, including eventual adoption of the euro.
>>
>>74612029
I don't understand the problem.

>They joined under a very special condition which allowed them to opt out of pretty much everything. They will not gain that privilege the next time they try to join.
Good. Because then it means that us having special privileges was the reason why it's looking so shit right now. Then we can join in their success.

But like you say, I don't think this scenario will come to pass. Just saying that if it does, the UK still made the right choice not to gamble on the EU.

>>74622865
>I'm behind on this Brexit stuff
Obviously. It was decided by a narrow minority and almost instantly a significant portion of "leave" voters regretted it. Boris Johnson failed to take responsibility for his unfullfilable "let's use the money we gave to the EU to finance the NHS" promise and Farage not only retreated from politics but flat-out stated he'd leave Britain if Brexit Britain goes sour. The prime minsters currently overseeing the Brexit was actually actively campaigning for the Remain camp prior to the elections.

Remain and Leave were always neck-to-neck, and I don't know for certain but it's not beyond belief that after the referendum the Remain camp outnumbers the Leave camp. This is why a lot of people petitioned for a second referendum. A lot of Brits responded with "W-we didn't mean that! Now let's do it for realsies!". Not sure if Parliament discussed it, but the petition gathered a load of autographs.

parliament had to discuss it because it got over a certain amount of signatures, it's how our system works

however, they flat out ruled out a second referendum immediately, which i partly agree with. partly.
personally, the hard brexit wasn't something i voted for and i feel slightly betrayed because we never got to decide on that. i think I'd rather remain than go hard brexit, but I'd rather a soft brexit than anything else.

The whole brexit thing was just internal conservative party politics. They were being torn apart by internal divisions in the party regardind the EU issue, a process seriously aggravated by the surging of Emperor Nigel I the Based.

So Dave the lad Cameron said 'oi lads, how about sorting out our internal party problem via passing the hot ball to the people in a referendum!?" and every tory was like 'yo, Dave, you are a top lad. Absolute genius. Whatever comes out of it, we win!!".
