Portuguese people are so shitty that we improved their own language.
We're the only people keeping the language relevant.

brazilian portuguese is like speaking portuguese with a pair of testicles in your mouth which could actually be close to reality considering that most of you are veados.
>>74523406
What? You got things confused. Portuguese people are the one who don't pronounce vowels and speak with a closed mouth.
but your entire country is shitty

And it still managed to be more relevant than Portushit. Crazy, isn't it?

This was an attack at Portugal. Why are these other Europeans defending Portugal?

Also Russia is a corrupt shithole with people who behave like some nihilistic fucks. You people only seem capable of achieving something because dictators take complete hold and sacrifice everyone in the name of something. If Brazil behaved like that we would be the same just like when we had a dictatorship and grew fast economically. But I like you people.

First, let's make clear that because you don't know about it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist, ok?
Let's go:
Music: I'd need 100 posts to post everything we have to offer when it comes to music:
Bossa nova
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KpIV57PSeo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHXaoonjmfI
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frq70agiADY
Literature:
Our fathers have Eça de Queiros, Camões, Pessoa and Saramago
We have Machado de Assis, Guimarães Rosa, Jorge Amado, Clarice Lispector, Euclides da Cunha(influenced Llosa to write a book), Graciliano Ramos, Augusto dos Anjos, Lima Barreto and many more
About the first two by Gringos:
>erican literary critic Harold Bloom's list of the greatest 100 geniuses of literature, alongside writers such as Dante, Shakespeare and Cervantes.
Guimaraes ROsa:
>It is often considered to be the Brazilian equivalent of James Joyce's Ulysses.[1][2][3] In a 2002 poll by the Bokklubben World Library, >"Grande Sertão: Veredas" was named among the best 100 books of all time.[4]
Portuguese people watch our novelas and IIRC they also read our books and we don't consume anything from them. I don't think this is good. I think we should know about each other more.
Movies: Cidade de Deus and Elite squad
name one portuguese movie
Actors: Xerxes in 300, Pablo escobar in narco, alice braga in I am legend
Portuguese actor?

Just to expand on music:
Classical music:
Heitor Villa-lobos
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-XGAWjwj-c
Villa also has many musical pieces that are performed to this day. He also composed a music for the great violinist Segovia IIRC

Sadly, the Brazilian mindset is still quite primitive. Any student that starts showing more intellect than the others in his class will be hostilized and called stuff like 'cu de ferro' (iron asshole - meaning they never leave their chair, always studying).
Brazilians care much more for celebrities like singers, actors and sportsmen.
>>74523425
The further away from Spanish the better. This is a fact.
Keep up, Brazil, you're following behind.
>>74524618
>Portuguese people watch our novelas
That was only during the 90's.
We had Manoel de Oliveira, who was a great director, and a couple of actors in shows going around like Daniela Ruah and Pepê Rapazote but none that relevant besides Joaquim De Almeida.
>Our fathers have Eça de Queiros, Camões, Pessoa and Saramago
We have way more than that, though. None of those you listed I knew besides Machado de Assis, and I'll also give you guys Padre António Vieira since he was only born here. We have a lot more writers than the ones you learn about. Also, Pessoa is like 10 in 1, to be fair. Then there's Gil Vicente, Almeida Garrett, Bocage and even D. Dinis himself. Portuguese as a language is very intertwined with its countries' literature and especially poetry.
You guys do have a lot more musical projection and complexity with bossa nova than us, though, that's for sure. Don't let Americans tell you that Jazz is it's main influence because bossa nova is as complex as Jazz in it's own right. It's also a lot more language-based, since Jazz lyrics are usually awful and uninteresting, despite the fun melodies and harmonies.
Cidade de Deus and Tropa de Elite were great.
Since we're talking about music as well, here's a Portuguese band singing in Brazilian Portuguese to mock the outsider's perspective of Fado, in a neat way that both acknowledges the Portuguese and the Brazilians.
