It's extremely hygienic. You don't have to sit on it and noone else before and after you will.
Also you don't waste time scrolling through your fucking smartphone while taking a shit.
Pop a squat, take a shit, wipe your arse and walk out.

Not to mention squatting is a more natural position for humans to defecate.
