Germans are often rude. It's only fitting for their language to sound this way.

>WW1 ends
>Wilson begs allies to be nice to poor Germany, American investment rushes in to rebuild Germany in the interwar years
>WW2 ends
>Truman spends millions rebuilding Germany, sends American troops to defend their former enemies
>Soviets block western ground and water access to West Berlin, America risks war with USSR to supply West Berlin entirely by air with four planes landing every minute loaded with food and supplies
>Cold War ends
>Thatcher, Mitterrand, and Gorby all are against German reunification, but Bush convinces them to accept it
>Today
>Germany has the lowest support of the USA out of all EU nations and all NATO countries save Turkey
>American soldiers are on German soil pledged to give up their LIVES for a country that hates them

Personally I like to see the roots of a word. English just uses Latin words, Romance languages use Latin words, it just seems lame to me. Naturwissenschaften literally means Nature Knowledgeship so it's the "knowledge of nature". What does science mean? You have to look into a dictionary to see.

>>
german sounds beautiful, practically every image the spaniard has posted help prove this
>>
>>74387956
>You have to look into a dictionary to see.
Well not really, since to English speakers it's a base word. An English speaker needing to look up the definition of "science" to understand what it means is like a German speaker needing to look up "Natur" to know what "Naturwissenschaften" means.

I agree though, personally I wish English retained more of its Germanic origins.

A lot more people learn English, and many from young ages, giving them advantages over the smaller number of anglos of which many dont learn a foreign language rigorously intil college. 2. Assuming youre not an anglo yourself, you are not a native speaker and thus many little things that would point out a non native speaker (which at least here in America people dont point out usually because who cares?) you yourself might not pickup. The German language is ugly beacuse Germans are incapable of producing or appriceating beauty, instead they are drawn to filth and ugliness.

>Life Is Like a Chicken Coop Ladder was first published in 1984 and from the outset inspired a wide variety of reactions ranging from high praise to utter disgust. Alan Dundes' theses identifies a strong anal erotic element in German national character, citing numerous examples of scatological data from authentic compilations of German folklore. The examination of this single trait of German character is used to demonstrate that national character exists and that its existence is unambiguously documented by the folklore of a nation. Dundes is of the opinion that the use of folkloristic data minimizes subjective bias in the study of national character, since unedited or uncensored, it constitutes a unique way of looking at a culture from the inside-out rather than from the outside-in, the more typical situation of an outside observer trying to understand a foreign culture.

English has huge amounts of diphthongs and triphthongs, German has 3 of them. I'll mark every vowel/diphthong in your sentence that does not exist in German:
>Pr*actically means j*ust about, not the s*ame. Also, G*erman vowels are j*ust English vowels are j*ust english vowels b*ut *alw*ays the same. Idk of a sound Ive h*ad to l*earn for g*erman *other th*an umlauts, pf, and the g*uttural r
Many of those that I did not mark, are only approximately equivalent to a German vowel (you can find both vowel sounds of "about" in German words), but still with a slightly different pronunciation. Depending on the English accent, I could also mark n*ot.
>Idk of a sound Ive had to learn for german other than umlauts, pf, and the guttural r
Other ones that native English speakers always struggle with are pronouncing long "o" and "e" as monophthongs and not as diphthongs, the difference between "große" and "großer" and they usually pronounce the "a" too dark.
Overall, English speakers usually have a very "elongated" pronunciation (which is often *very* prominent) where Germans usually pronounce things more clearly-cut.

There's only so many meaningful sounds a human can make. Most languages aside from African subhuman trash languages share some common sounds, like "b", "t", "k", etc.
But in English the spelling/pronunciation of letters only matches to German in about 50% of the time.
A: always "aah" in German. in English it's more like what we write as Ä/ä
B: identical in English
C: mostly identical in English
D: identical in English
E: always "eh" in German. In English it's often "ee"
F: identical in English
G: hard g in German, often a soft g in English
H: identical in English
I: always "ee" in German, more of an "ay" in English
J: can be identical
K: identical in English
L: identical in English
M: identical in English
N: identical in English
O: mostly identical in English
R: half-rolled r in German, weird "auuu" sound in English
Q: mostly similar
S: hard in German, soft in English
T: identical in English
U: similar
V: in German it's the same sound as "f"
W: in German it's like the "v" in English
X: the same
Y: practically non-existent in native German words
Z: soft in English, hard in German

Being literate doesn't require you to speak more than one language.

Also he is clearly taking the piss and not trying to write proper German.
>>

Oh yeah, bombing millions of innocent Germans in their cities is real nice! Letting the Soviets rape Eastern Germany is real nice. Fighting Germany in WW1 for no good reason and letting France and England extort money out of them was real nice.
Go fuck yourself, you selfish little whiner.
>>
>>74390332
It's a copypasta you autist. Clearly a combination of learning German and your 1/64 Prussian heritage has lead you down this path of being unable to determine what is serious and what isn't.

(This was a joke as well, don't respond angrily please)

Do you want to make feces sound like a nice word?
>>
>>74389637
No, that's just how people use it. Practically has to do with how something turns out in actual practice which usually means less than perfect results.

Regarding Anglo ability to speak German

here's an American speaking German
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pcB3FE16-w

he's very good but slurring a bit

here's an Australian, he's pretty much perfect, especially his pronounciation

>>
>>74390165
>>74390209
I think you're missing my point. I obviously understand that German and English pronunciations are different; your standard Anglo won't be able to properly read a German word the same as any other foreign language. Most of the sounds in German are present in English however, and it is not that difficult to rememeber that whenever I see a its like in ahh and not in apple than it is to learn something like a new sound or talking tonally. I still probably slip up sometime but it isnt because its difficult, its because i havent spoken long enough, and thats probably true with most speakers.
>>
>>74386249
It only sounds angry if you yell it out, if you speak normally, you'll just sound very silly.
>>
>>74390885
Yes, the point being you are an ignorant little shit talking out of your arse, common among burgers, whereas the Germans responding to your conjecture actually know what they are talking about.
How about you shut your fat mouth for once and learn something?
>>
>>74391583
I think he's the same guy that said he was a first generation immigrant, so not really a burger tbf

My husband is from Germany and he has a faint accent. He says his t's very sharply and sounds like he's asking a question almost every time.

Dialect is the hardest thing to over come to non native speakers since their are tons of different dialects in the US. PA (where I live) there is penn dutch accent, Philly accents, north accent, central PA accent, Pitt accent, north east accent.

Interesting study if anyone wants to take a look.

No

Germany adopted the CETME 58 as the G3 and had Heckler & Koch licensed to manufacture them
H&K then developed a whole family based off the G3

The design may have worked but it was needlessly complex, it was far less reliable and much more costly to produce than many just as good alternatives that had been around for decades by the time WWII came around
