Well, yes and no. Different regions listen to different kinds of music here.

The east of the country has pure country music. Amsterdam also some British hipster music. It's non-existent in the rest of the country.
In the south marching bands are incredibly popular. And in the west accordion music.

In my city in the center of the country there are a lot of street organs.

But I'm still skeptical about the public vote. This is not the type of song you expect to see in eurovision nowadays. It's a love or hate song. I'm just hoping there's enough people in Europe that loves it.
Personally, I enjoy it because of his voice and how sincerely he sings. It goes so perfectly with the lyrics.

The songwriter herself, Luisa Sobral, confessed she wasn't expecting all this hype. She wasn't even expecting to win our national song contest. She just wanted to showcase her brother's talent to the country, because she's already popular around here.
