Well, it's not the same when you come here as a tourist, and when you're actually living here permanently.

Personally, given that I live in a low middle class community, I've never felt like I've been living in a third world country, you know, because where I live it's very safe, and I never go to sketchy places, of course. But I can understand why poor Salvadorians will hate living here, they're the ones that are affected more by maras and all that, the only thing that truly depress me about living here is how I know things will never get better because it's pretty obvious that our politicians care more about stealing money than actually improving the situation this country is in.

Because they are the only country in Central American with a considerable amount of African blood, panama and Costa Rica are known for having pure black people, but in Honduras the Spanish brought a lot of African slaves there, and they ended up mixing with the mestizos population.
