Hey guys.
I found this keychain, and it seems to have an old coin inside of it.
Can you recognize it? Looks Greek to me.
Do you think it might be some value?
Seems like it has "Basileus Alexandros" written on it. King Alexander? Alexander the Great? Fuck if I know, I can't read Greek.
Ideas?

Look like your coin is in good shape so if it was athenticated it would be worth up to $1200 usd or so

Hey, that's pretty cool.
Do you know how I could authenticate it?

>The vast majority of Alexander’s coins were silver tetradrachms. The obverse shows a head of Heracles wearing a lion’s scalp, while the reverse image is Zeus seated on a throne holding an eagle in his outstretched right hand and a sceptre in the left. Many of the silver coins also have a symbol indicating where the coin was minted.
you can compare the size and weight with some from the internet
and get a magnet
i dont think anyone would go out with real coins 2bh
i saw some copies in the internet for 50-75$

You're welcome
Also, it says "Vasileos Alexandrou" on your coin. Basically "King Alexander"

I'm no expert in ancient coins, but the closet coin I've found is this one, with the Vasileos at the bottom:

Your coins looks too good to be true. If it's real, it could be worth a couple hundreds dollars, but I wouldn't be so hopeful.
You could ask for a professional grading to confirm it, like NGC or PCGS, but it's like $30 for the service. Try to find a local coin store to see it in person.
