Do Germanic European nations (I mean all of them: Germany, England, Netherlands, Sweden, etc) see themselves as a tight-knit family whose ties go beyond the linguistic connection? Do they consider themselves to be a 'pan-ethnicity', birds of a feather? Or, in contrast, do they deem their divergent histories as well as geography to be sound arguments not to be lumped together with each other?
